Lovely hotel with instant sunshine and views!

I loved this hotel. Me and my boyfriend went there for 4 nights. The room is perfect, the bed is huge and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing: lots of amazing juices, great coffee and special foods to choose from. The pool is absolutely beautiful: we went there 3 days in a row. Especially the cabanas are great!
The service is lovely and the location is very nice. We could do everything by foot (if you don’t mind walking 30-40 minutes), but there is also a metrostation around the corner. Loved it here!

Wonderful

Location was perfect, rooms were amazing, clean and comfortable and spacious, food was great, Pool rooftop fun! Not super kid friendly (the pool) but they enjoyed cooling off!

Do not come here for the amenities

Do not book here if you are sold by the rooftop hotel and restaurant. You have to pay extra to reserve chairs by the pool, otherwise you are turned away. The rooftop bar staff were extremely rude to us, placing reference on the non-hotel guests that made reservations there. The front desk staff is very nice and accommodating. Rooftop staff I give a 1 out of 5.

Disapponting stay and very poor handling of our complaints

We stayed at The Hoxton Poblenou from 30 July to 4 August 2026. Unfortunately, our experience was considerably below what we expected from a hotel of this standard.
The bathroom in our room had a strong and persistent sewage smell. We reported this several times during our stay and someone was sent to inspect it, but the problem was never properly resolved.
What was particularly disappointing was the way our complaint was subsequently handled. At check-out, we were told that the charges would be held while the manager reviewed the situation and decided on appropriate compensation. Nevertheless, the full amount was subsequently charged to our credit card, without any further communication. I have since emailed the hotel and also called them personally. I was promised a call back, but nobody ever contacted me.
The swimming pool was another disappointment. Although the hotel promotes the pool as part of the experience, hotel guests were required to spend approximately €40 per person in order to use the pool/sunbeds, while there was very limited availability of places. For a hotel of this level, we found this quite extraordinary and disappointing.
We also received information about the parking height restriction only after we had already checked out and left, making that information useless to us during our stay.
Problems can happen in any hotel. What matters is how they are dealt with. Unfortunately, in our case, both the unresolved bathroom problem and the lack of communication afterwards were very disappointing.
We expected considerably better service and customer care from The Hoxton.

Never Again

The roof was so crowded by non-guests, actual hotel guests could not enjoy it. Fraudulent charges, possibly related to party goers on the roof.
