Title: Perfect location, outstanding service, Thais made the difference

Sercotel Arenal Bilbao is the kind of hotel that gets everything right. Located at the entrance of the Casco Viejo, facing Arenal Park and the San Nicolás Church, the location alone is worth five stars. The Guggenheim is a short walk away, Mercado de la Ribera is five minutes on foot, and the entire old town is literally at your doorstep.
The room was beautiful and the views were spectacular, waking up to that setting every morning made the trip even better.
Breakfast deserves its own mention. The dining area is small, which is why they organize it by time slots, a smart solution. But what truly made it special was Thais, the one person running the entire breakfast operation. Her energy, her smile, and her dedication to keeping everything perfectly organized and stocked at all times was remarkable. She represents the best of what hospitality should be.
For those arriving by car, the hotel sits in a restricted traffic zone, but a paid parking garage is just five minutes away under Arenal Park. Daily rates are very reasonable, and the hotel provides 10% discount coupons.
Highly recommended. A gem in the heart of Bilbao.

We stayed in the second floor, busy and bustling street below and it was totally quiet, 0 noise. Bunch of restaurants around ( small space, so call for Reservations) Parking is a block away, Public Parking, you pay for the night and the Hotel will give you a ticket for a 10 % discount.

The air conditioning was barely passable. and it didn't get any better in another of the other rooms. They confirmed. Also, this hotel does not have parking, there is parking half a mile away but there is no parking in this hotel.

This small hotel is handily located in the old town part of Bilbao, close to many shops, bars and restaurants. It is also only 100m or so from San Memes Metro station, which is itself only 4 stops from the Intermodal Bus and Train station.
The room was clean, spacious, and importantly air conditioned.
The breakfast room, located on the 1st floor had a good selection of fruits, yoghurt, cheeses, ham, bread, pastries, and cakes, together with hot food. Everything you could really need. If you haven't already booked breakfast, it's well worth the €10,90.

The doors in the hotel close extremely loud. You feel like falling out of bed when the door in the next room closes….. Earplugs for light sleepers! No street noise, though.
Nice, clean rooms, good breakfast. Need to stick to time slots for breakfast.
Location of the hotel is great, very close to good restaurants and shopping. Public transport just a few steps away. Taxi stand in front of the house. All in all a good place for a few days.
