A fantastic stay and celebrated getting Engaged!
We have just spent a week at this hotel.
The location of the hotel is perfect with everything in walking distance. The hotel sits on Cala Ferrera beach which is a prime beach for cliff jumping! The beach can be very busy and you do have to pay for a sun bed but we just used hotel sunbeds and took the short walk down the beach.
The atmosphere in the hotel is great. Entertainment staff and hotel staff really go out of their way to make it a memorable stay. Our room was gorgeous, cleaned daily and had a comfortable big double bed. There are lots of reviews on here regarding the air con but ours was outstanding. To the point it could be too cold sometimes!
The food in the hotel is great for all inclusive. As a fussy eater who doesn’t like much particularly fish there was always something I could eat. The snack bar (Breeze) also offered mini burgers and hot dogs everyday.
The all inclusive drinks are fantastic. A good variety of drinks available.
We got engaged during our stay at the hotel and were kindly given a bottle of Cava to celebrate off the hotel. The team at reception also helped us find a nice restaurant to celebrate the occasion.
The only 2 things I would like improved is the gym facilities, as a couple we do enjoy using the gym and the gym here is very small with limited equipment. There is also a bit of a sunbed war, having to wake up at 6:45am to get a decent sunbed isn’t ideal even though it does state none are to be reserved. However I think this is just a given in most hotels now. There are some sunbeds available after 9am but generally ones that are shaded by 12pm. Around 3pm everyday we would make our way up to the family pool and there was always sunbeds available. This is a salt water pool but is clean and always had something going on.
Overall we would absolutely return to this hotel! The staff, atmosphere and access to everything is fantastic. Thank you to everyone at Barcelo for celebrating a special trip with us!

Disappointing experience – not worth the price
Unfortunately, our stay at the Barceló Ponent Beach Hotel was a very disappointing experience, particularly considering the price we paid. We have stayed in this area four times now, and this was by far the worst hotel we have experienced.
When we arrived, we were allocated rooms in a separate building that wasn't connected to the main hotel. We noticed that a number of the animation staff appeared to be staying in the same part of the building, which unfortunately gave us the impression that we had been placed in what felt like staff accommodation rather than the standard hotel rooms we were expecting.
We had booked two rooms, and the hotel's website stated that each room would have one double bed and one sofa bed. However, neither room had a sofa bed. The rooms themselves were also looking very tired, with chipped paint and generally in need of some attention.
One of the biggest issues was the air conditioning. The air conditioning in one of our rooms wasn't working, and despite reporting this to reception three separate times, nothing was done to resolve the problem during our stay. In a hot country, this is simply not acceptable, particularly when paying a premium price for a hotel.
We were also surprised to find that there was no air conditioning in the dining room, only ceiling fans. Given the temperatures in Mallorca, this made mealtimes unnecessarily uncomfortable.
The hotel was one of the most expensive options in the area, so we expected a much higher standard. Unfortunately, the quality of the accommodation and the lack of response when we raised issues simply did not justify the price.
That said, we absolutely want to give credit to the animation team. They were fantastic and clearly worked incredibly hard throughout the day and into the evening. Their energy, enthusiasm and commitment were impressive, and they were a real highlight of our stay.
Sadly, despite the efforts of the animation team, we would not recommend the Barceló Ponent Beach Hotel. Based on our experience, there are much better options in the area for the price.

Absolute Nightmare Stay – A Safety Hazard & Total Waste of Money
I read the bad reviews online before booking and assumed people were just being overly picky or dramatic. I was dead wrong. Our stay at Barceló Ponent Playa (Cala d'Or) was an absolute disaster from start to finish, and every negative review turned out to be completely accurate.
* Zero Room Security: We were placed on the ground floor, only to discover that the patio door could be easily opened from the outside by hand. Anyone off the street could have walked straight into our room while we were sleeping. For a major hotel brand, this level of negligence regarding guest safety is shocking.
* Uncontrolled Lawlessness at Night: Forget getting any sleep. Guests were in the pool until 3:00 AM every single night, shouting, screaming, and carrying on. Security was non-existent, and management clearly does not care about enforcing basic rules or protecting their guests' peace.
* Flooding & Plumbing Disasters: The bathroom was a mess. Every time the shower ran, water flooded across the entire bathroom floor, leaving us navigating a soaked room with dirty towels.
* Unusable Pools & Inedible Food: The pool area was chaotic and filthy, and the food was plain terrible—cold, bland, repetitive, and completely unappetizing.
Save your money and take the bad reviews seriously. This place is unmanaged, unsafe, and a total waste of a holiday.

If you’ve seen this on TikTok, don’t bother.
Rats on the balcony, dead cockroaches in the hallways outside the room, back door to balcony broken.
Nothing about this hotel was nice. Plus, the advertised adults only section… non existent.

Amazing family experience
We stayed her for just over a week with our young daughter. It was the best time! From the gorgeous rooms to the incredible food selections and topped off with possibly the best animations team I've ever seen. Every night my daughter was so excited for the mini disco hosted by the incredible Nutella, she really was so lovely!
The show hosted by the team were fantastic and would rival any big theatre show!
The location is perfect too, right on the doorstep of the cala ferrera, stunning!
