A Promising New Hotel

We spent two wonderful weeks at this newly opened hotel and we liked almost everything about it, especially:
Staff - the entire staff were exceptionally friendly and always willing to answer questions or help with anything.
Location – If you rent a car, you can easily visit Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, and Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
Beach - Costa Ballena's sandy beaches stretch for kilometers, offering plenty of space to relax and enjoy the coast.
Restaurant - the hotel's buffet restaurant offers a decent selection, with something new and varied on the menu every day. There are also two à la carte restaurants—one serving Asian cuisine and the other Italian—which can be reserved in advance at the reception desk.
In addition, worth mentioning that the rooms are very clean, as is the rest of the hotel.
The adults-only pool could be a bit deeper—the maximum depth is only 1.2 meters—but it's not a major issue.
There are some grocery stores nearby if you need anything. For example, you can buy bottled water, which is worth mentioning since the hotel does not offer it free of charge —a small downside, in our opinion. The closest option is Supermercado Covirán Costa Ballena, which is within walking distance. Just a few minutes farther away, you'll find Mercadona, offering a wider selection of groceries and other essentials.

Dear Ashot M.,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your recent stay at Best Village Chipiona. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your two-week visit and appreciated the friendliness of our staff, the convenient location, and the cleanliness of our facilities. It is gratifying to know that our restaurant offerings met your expectations and added to your overall experience.
We acknowledge your feedback regarding the depth of the adults-only pool and appreciate your understanding that it is designed for relaxation rather than diving. Additionally, we appreciate your mention of our grocery store options nearby, as we aim to provide our guests with convenience during their stay. Great beach hotel

Hotel is just a few months old and running smoothly. Nice variety of food options. Teppanyaki restaurant was a nice experience. If you don't have children go for the premium rooms, rooftop terrace and pool is great.

Disappointed

Stayed here in June for a week with hubby on half board basis . On arrival at the hotel we had quite a long wait at reception and were not greeted by anyone just left to stand around until it was time to check in , there was a table with drinks on but it was unclear if you were allowed to help yourself. Got checked in and we were in villa 6 , first impressions were not good as the carpets in the hallways were very badly stained quite surprising as it’s a relatively new hotel . The room itself was compact but had everything needed , comfortable bed ,and luckily comfortable pillows as the pillow menu was not in the room as advertised. The air con was a bit hit and miss which we reported at reception but no idea if the engineer looked at it as it was temperamental all during our stay . Asked at reception for the use of an iron and some extra coat hangers as there were only 4 per person in the room ,I was told we would get a phone call when an iron was available ( 20 euros deposit still waiting for the phone call ) , and the hangers never appeared so had to resort to laying our clothes out on the sofa . The balcony overlooked the adults only pool which was fine apart from the continual chill out music which became very annoying after a while . The breakfasts were varied and ok but wouldn't rave about them , had some little sausages first day which were raw in the middle so stuck to omlette for the rest of week . The evening meal was not brilliant most of the hot dishes were tepid at best the meat was nearly always pork and the veg nearly always Mediterranean type . Ate mostly from the salad bar which had lots of choice and was always fresh as was the bread . The only place you can smoke is along the outer edge of the hotel ,near the bars , overlooking a piece of wasteland and there are no shops or cigarette machine close by so if you do smoke take enough with you . The staff at the hotel are virtually all Spanish and most speak very little English so if you can speak some Spanish it would been a bonus , all the staff were very polite and friendly. It would have been nice to see a rep to explain the local area etc but all we got was a leaflet on the bus which didn’t give much information and not a lot of info in the room .We were in a premium room and nothing was mentioned to us about being able to visit the Italian and Japanese restaurants so don’t know if it’s included. The hotel pools are not very deep and don’t open until 10.30 and the indoor pool is part of the spa and you need to book and wear a swimming cap didn’t ask if this was an extra charge as didn’t use even though the indoor pool was one of the main reasons for booking the hotel . The other so called indoor pool at the side of the spa is not really as the roof opens when it’s hot and this also is very shallow and usually full of children. Wine is E 2.50 a glass and lager 3.70 a pint cocktails 7.50 and spirits quite expensive. Be aware this hotel is not near any shops bars or restaurants the area is very residential so a car would be an advantage if you want to get out and about ,the bus service is virtually non existent and no taxis were available when we tried to book one at reception to Chipiona . We walked along the beach to Chipiona which took us 2 hours to get to the lighthouse and had to ask in a bar for a kind member of staff to book us a taxi back as there is no taxi rank . The taxi cost 16 euros . The beach was lovely and the walks along the paths near the seafront are nicebut a little boring after a few times as no cafes or ice cream stalls etc All in all if you like a beach / slash pool holiday and have kids it’s a great place to stay but just not for us .

Dear Nina K,
We sincerely appreciate your feedback regarding your recent stay at Best Village Chipiona.
We regret that your experience fell short of expectations and that you encountered issues from the moment you arrived. We have taken note of the wait time at reception and the lack of information regarding the self-service beverage station, as these are areas where we aim to improve our customer service.
Regarding the room, we are sorry to hear that the condition of the corridors did not meet your expectations. However, we are pleased to know that you found your room comfortable. We will review your comments concerning the absence of a pillow menu and the air conditioning issues with our team to help us enhance our service.
We are sorry that our dining options did not appeal to you. We will take your observations regarding the variety and temperature of the dishes into account for future improvements. We also understand that the hotel's location and transport options may not have been ideal for your travel plans.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a more satisfactory experience in the future.
Sincerely,
Best Village Chipiona

Would not return

Nothing around the hotel have to walk a long way to find a supermarket to get essentials like water, milk as we like a cup of tea in the morning in our room
They also ticked us off as having an evening meal on our arrival but didn’t get one as we arrived after restaurant had finished serving (arrived around 10:30pm)
We asked about this but was not offered nothing as a replacement meal on last day
The staff hardly speak English and it looks like the place is geared up for Spanish guests
Hotel was nice apart from that got a nice adult pool
I would say it would be a good place to go in 10-15 years time when the area has more infrastructure

Dear Stephen M,
We sincerely appreciate your feedback, and I am sorry that your experience at Best Village Chipiona was not entirely satisfactory. We understand that the hotel's location can make accessing amenities like supermarkets challenging; however, management aims to provide a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and encourages guests to plan ahead to meet their needs.
Regarding dinner on the day of your arrival, we regret that you were unable to enjoy the meal as expected. The kitchen closes at a specific time, and it is standard procedure to inform guests of this upon arrival. As for the language barrier, we strive to improve communication with all our guests and appreciate your comments on this matter.
We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the adults-only pool, which is a highlight of our hotel.
We hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future.
Sincerely,
Best Village Chipiona
