Lovely week in costa teguise
Just got back from a week stay here. Family of 4, children aged 14 and 10.
We stayed in a Junior comfort suite, the room was spacious, there was some minor wear and tear but nothing bad. We found the beds quite hard. The cleaners came in every day with new towels and made the beds, cleaning was abit hit and miss, we had one cleaner that did a really good job and another who did half a job! You get bottles of water on arrival. There is a small kitchen area with kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge and basic cutlery. Bathroom has a hairdryer.
We mainly used the 'quite' pool however this is mainly because one of my daughters is autistic and it was a calmer area for her, we did visit the 'noisy' pool twice for some activities our daughters wanted to try. Noisy pool serves drinks, icecream and slushies and has a snack bar. It also has lots of activities happening throughout the day, quite pool has a drinks bar and icecream. Both pool bars have water stations where you can regill your water bottles. Both pools have plenty of sunloungers and we never struggled to find some even later on in the day. The pools are cold and salt water. However this didn't stop us enjoying them and the cold water is actually quite refreshing with the heat. No inflatables allowed, but swimming aids, balls and water shooters are.
You can get a cooked breakfast the normal bacon, sausage, egg etc or there is cereal, fruit and pancakes. Breakfast is very repetitive. Lunch is also very repetitive although dinner changes up abit each evening with a different theme such as international, Mexican, carvery ect. Snackbar has burgers, hotdogs, toasties, chips, salad ect we did come across chicken nuggets once. There are also two other restaurants one just for adults and another one which I believe is a Chinese restaurant however we didn't visit these.
Theres a small playground, minigolf, volleyball area, multisport areas, gym and massage place on site (extra charge for massage place) also arcades machines in snack bar and main bar. We aren't too bothered about sitting in a bar or watching entertainment and only visited one show (magic show) which was okay but cant really comment on other entertainment or the galleon bar.
We enjoy going for a walk on a night and did notice there was plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. The views in the area at night are lovely especially at sunset if that's your thing.
We visited teguise market, the open mall, rancho texas and the aquarium out the back of the hotel. The market is massive but very repetitive and the buses get very busy, we ended up having to get a taxi back to costa teguise which cost about £25. The children really enjoyed rancho texas and the aquarium however one of our daughters is animal mad!
We also visited playa de las cucharus and playa de los charcos they are both 5 minutes away from the hotel, when we was there it was quite high tides throughout the day and the water gets deep quickly as it is on a slope, great for water sports but not for children who like to have a swim in the sea, for lower tides it was better to go early morning or late nighy. However playa del jablillo which is about a 20 minute walk away was much better for children and there is lots of different fish you can see swimming around you which out daughters enjoyed.
There is a photographer on site who comes around the pools and outside the main restaurant. You can purchase the photos if you wish.
All in all we have enjoyed our holiday and found the hotel and local area suitable for our needs however it may not be for people who prefer a more lively environment, I suppose it depends what you want out of your holiday.

cockroaches!!!
I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. It was very dirty and there were cockroaches everywhere — both in the rooms and in public areas, including the toilets by the pool. There was also a lot of black hair all over the room, which was absolutely disgusting and made it clear that the room had not been properly cleaned.
The food was poor and definitely not what I expected. The staff working at the pool bar were another major disappointment. I have honestly never seen people who seemed to hate their jobs so much. The service was unfriendly and unpleasant.
The location itself is actually quite good, but unfortunately that is probably the only positive thing I can say about this hotel.
Overall, the hotel was extremely dirty, poorly maintained, and unpleasant. I would definitely not recommend staying here.

Reliable place to come for families
Have just returned from a 5 night stay.
I was joining family there, requested to be near their room and I was pretty close.
Was allocated room 2111, ground floor accessible room (im fit & healthy).
Room was very spacious as you would expect and ideal for someone with mobility issues. Only issue with room was that there was lots of mosquitoes in / around bathroom, so was a daily task of removing them with my slider.
Pools were pretty cold but spot on for the hot days. Be careful with the wind, you can and will burn easily. You will need to get up early if you want a sun lounger in the shade, otherwise lots available still at 9am.
We spent our days around the lively pools, snack bar was very handy, usual burgers / hot dogs / fries / toasties, to keep you going.
There is an ice cold water machine that we used lots, so I would advise you to bring your own big bottles to keep you topped up.
My son and I used the football pitch on site lots, nice addition, bring / wear your old footy stuff, you will get dirty. We also played darts once (not the best board), mini golf lots and tennis once. All sports were free to use.
Restaurant wise, we enjoyed it mostly, something there for everyone's tastes. Personally I found breakfast the nicest meal of the day.
Hotel location is spot on, shops / beach / restaurants literally across the road.
I shall look forward to going back to this hotel again in the future. I highly recommend for families.

Not what we expected
We flew with Jet2 as a package holiday. the location lovely, few shops nearby and 10 min walk to the beach. Grounds of the hotel are immaculate and well maintained as is the pool areas of which there are 2. Quiet pool and Entertainment pool. The usual lounger hoggers were out early doors to blag first dibs, however there were plenty of loungers, just not enough with umbrellas or shade!! The staff work hard to ensure all areas around resort are clean, if only they had same effort with the rooms.
Dining, we were all inclusive and it what you would expect but had variety. Main dining area was alikened to a school canteen and very noisy. If you can ask, for an outside dining table. There is also an oriental buffet which we tried and enjoyed. We could not use the a la carte Itallian resturant as a family, they dont accept children under 13, utterly bizarre when its a family resort!
Accomodation- there are semingly 3 levels of accomodation, Junior Suites, Senior suites and premium suites.
We booked a senior suite, which have 2 bedrooms and situated on the ground floor. Room 2144 which was at the far end of the resort overlooking a barren garden and the main road.
It was unclean, flooring was sticky and torn in places. Dining table was sticky to the touch, marks on the seating. There was also a broken floor tile in the bathroom. It also had that odour of having not been used in a while. We then had the added bonus of cockroaches. 4 in the Bathroom and to cap it off a large one in the bag holding the spare pillows in the wardrobe. Now, reception were helpful and offered to place us in temporary room to sleep and our room would be fumigated in the morning. It was now 23.30. Security arrived with the key to the temporary apartment which was upstairs. What a difference in standard of rooms. (Obviously this was a premium room). The decor was modern, it was clean and smelt lovely. It was very different to our senior suite that was drab, dirty and in need of a major refurb.
We decided to remain in our 1st room, and speak to Jet2 rep in morning.
Sally, who was helpful attempted to appease by telling us cockroaches were not an indication of dirt but are common on the island due to the hot climate, however, she did speak to the Hotel manager who arranged a room change. We were allowed to view the room first, another senior suite situated between both pools and a better view. This room was cleaner, but again in need of updating, the footfall through these rooms must be constant, in the down season more work needs to be done to bring these rooms up to date decor wise and cleanliness wise. When you pay a susbstantial amount of money for your family holiday, you dont expect to have to buy your own cleaning products to ensure its clean. We also still had problems with cockroaches (downside of ground floor and lack of pest control) 3 large roaches inside toilet bowl one morning, looked like they were having swimming lessons. We only had our room cleaned twice whilst there, we did have a plentiful supply of fresh towels each day.
Reception staff were unfriendly, on our final day, my partner purchased some postcards, when recieving her change, she asked for for a 2 euro coin to changed to single 1 euros, so we could have a game of pool. This was refused and she was directed to ask at the pool bar as reception were cashing up. Pool bar declined and sent my partner back to reception, who again refused stating they needed coins for the bank. Finally, the small shop next door gave us change. Staff in the dining area are hard working and helpful.
This is a 2/3 hotel at best, Jet2 need to return and do a proper inspection before sending guests here.
