For the friendliness of the staff and exquisite food, it is worth repeating a few times

Just referring to the restaurant. Just wonderful, the atmosphere, father and daughter, and mother cook. Like eating at home. They make you feel like you're not a client, but a guest. All dishes, delicious and made with pampering.

Good hotel but an amazing restaurant!

We had the most basic room but it was all we needed. There was enough space fir a couple of nights and we slept very well.
It’s easy to do great hikes directly from the hotel and it’s very close to town. Free parking.
The best part was the restaurant, however. Absolutely amazing food and wines!!!

Perfect

We were welcomed by the owner who runs this lovely small hotel, and immediately felt at home. Room was cozy and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Nice shower with a good water pressure.
Breakfast was the best we have ever had in Europe. Freshly squeezed orange juice, home made pastries, amazing omelettes. Everything was cooked on the spot and served to our table by the owner.
We have had two dinners at the hotel's restaurant that were absolutely perfect.
Service was impeccable, even though it was just the owner serving the tables.
We would absolutely return to Spain even just to come back to Els Puis.

Brilliant, 1st class all round. Highly recommended!

Lovely owners who endeavour (and achieve) the best for their visitors. Great room, plenty of space, good view & very comfortable. Whole hotel and restaurant extremely clean & well presented. Superb food, freshly prepared & well presented with some original touches.
James can speak a number of languages & is not defeated when presented with new words.
If you're there for a few days he will talk with Marta (currently at uni) who is brilliant.
We couldn't have picked a better place that was just at the end of the Chemin de Liberte (Freedom Trail from WW2)
Also well positioned for the National Park & surrounding villages.

Gret base for a trip to the National Park

I'm so glad we stayed here instead of any of the places in Espot. The owner was so nice, the room was clean, quiet and comfortable, if fairly simple. Easy parking in front. There is a nice common room (not the dining room) where we ate the cold dinner we'd brought along. It was only a few kms back to Espot, where we caught the shuttle Land Rover to take us on the National Park trail. The hotel owner affirmed our plan for a hike of several hours. The breakfast was somewhat more than standard and served us well. The owner doesn't speak English--not a problem for us, especially since he was so patient with our Spanish
