Great location, great rooms and simply the best staff I have ever met :-)
This place is perfect for its location, for its convenience, for the cleanliness and the simplicity still with taste of the accomodations and most importantly for the incredible athmosphere that permeates throughout every single relationship with Tomas and his staff. They are just gentle, anticipate your needs, respond immediately to any request and, in my personal case, go beyond the most optimistic expectations I could have based on my past experiences. I was unlucky to get my bag lost by Vueling and survived three days waiting for it to be delieverd back but throughout all the three days I was never alone. Tomas was constantly checking for me the status of the bag, wasting time in endless online waits for someone to answer on the other side, offering to put his number as a contact one and, ultimately, managing to retrieve the crucial information that allowed us to get our bag back. This is a host that truly cares, a person that truly cares and conveys a sense of hospitality that transcends the best professional obligations and enters the world of kindness and care in hospitality which is a complete (and so often forgotten) different level. So yes I will go back and yes I will tell all my friends to go to Can Chumbera and, in the meantime, I can only thank Tomas and his staff for adding a special spice to my Formentera stay.

Beautiful views, great host
Private, clean and secluded small cottages with a view. A bit out of the way for any beaches, but accessible via scooter or car. The host was very nice and helpful. He even accompanied us both ways with the car to take our carry-on that wouldn’t fit on the scooter. Overall a very nice experience. Be aware that there is no breakfast, but the host provides Nescafé and tea bags and a bottle of water, although you might ant to get more since tap water is not drinkable. Do choose upstairs cottages for ocean view but downstairs cottages have kitchen. A small, portable and effective beach umbrella is provided, but no further beach equipment. Nearest restaurant and supermarket is at the juncture with the main road, around 2km away (no walking distance under the Formentera summer sun).

A lovely quiet stay. Very romantic and relaxing!
My partner and I stayed for two nights at the Can Chumbera apartment villas in Formentera and we had a lovely visit. Would stay again and definitely recommend to people who are looking for a quiet area and want some space to themselves!
APARTMENT/VILLLA We had apartment number 14, it was an upstairs apartment at the far end of the property. All of the villas/apartments are attached, but we only saw the people staying below us once, and there was no issue with noise or privacy. The apartment itself was lovely. Plenty of space for two people with luggage, a separate living area with fridge and sofa (which could be used as a second bed), roomy bathroom, and bedroom with built in wardrobes. We loved that we had a lovely balcony with views of the sea (I think apartment 14 is one of the only ones with such great views), and we utilised the balcony and outdoor table and chairs in the evenings for sunset wines. The apartment was modern and clean, and the bed was comfortable. There is no air conditioning, so we slept with the windows open. There is also an overhead fan and a freestanding fan which we put next to the bed. Our four poster bed had a pretty net over it, which was also practical as a mosquito net! There was no cutlery or tableware provided in our villa, just a fridge and two wine glasses, but I think some of the bigger villas might have had more of this stuff. It was fine for us though, we ate out every meal (lots of good restaurants in Formentera)! Wifi was good.
LOCATION Formentera is a beautiful island, and very chilled and relaxed, it has a totally different vibe to Ibiza, It’s unpretentious and still quite untouched. Can Chumbera is isolated, which suited us fine! It’s a quiet and very calm corner of the island, which is reached by a dirt road (like many parts of Formentera). It felt very safe in Can Chumbera and we had no fears leaving our bikes in the carpark. Although our villa had sea views, the sea front closest to Can Chumbera is not safe or easy to access. To reach the closest safe swimming beaches, you must travel back along the dirt roads further inland, then across and back down to the beach. We chose not to hire a car in Formentera and travelled everywhere by bike or foot. From the Formentera ferry port to Can Chumbera it took us 30 minutes by bicycle. From Can Chumbera to the nearest nice swimming beach and restaurant area at Platja Migjorn, it took about 25 minutes. There is no local shop nearby, so make sure to pick up water and essentials BEFORE you settle in for the night at the villas. There are also very few street signs and no street lights, so I suggest saving the location on maps on your phone before going anywhere.
GROUNDS/FACILITIES Around the villas, there are sun lounges for those who want to lay out in the sun, and quite a lot of garden space for people to spread out, but we found that most people seemed to head out to the beaches in the morning and not return until dusk or after dinner. There is plentiful car and bicycle parking, and a front office/reception which is staffed during daytime hours. I feel a small shop with basic supplies like water and snacks, at reception would be a great addition – especially as the water from the taps is not drinkable!
SERVICE The staff at Can Chumbera were all lovely to deal with. They were happy to provide us with all the info we needed over email before we arrived, with directions, suggestions and everything we needed. When we arrived it was a great check in process, very quick and friendly. Our room was cleaned and made up in the morning while we were out which was really nice too! Overall a very pleasant stay.

Appartamento pulito e curato con tutti i comfort. Personale gentile. La possibilità di utilizzare il bagno di cortesia per fare una doccia e cambiarsi prima della partenza è impagabile. Unico grande neo...la posizione. Lontano da tutto.
