Great time

We went last week of July, all inclusive for 1 week, staff were great, hotel very clean, food was very good, standard all inclusive food, lots of choices and there was a part of the restaurant that did specials in the evenings, curry, Chinese, mexican, sushi.Pool area was very clean, plenty of sunbeds. We had a family room which was pretty basic but very clean.Somebody online mentioned a dress code for the evenings,i went in tidy shorts, shirt and a pair of trainers,no problems with that.Using a paper card with your room number on to identify all inclusive was a bit of a pain but you got used to it.The beach right outside is volcanic rock so can't really swim by hotel but there is sand in either direction.Evening entertainment was not great,I'm no Simon Cowell but it could be improved on.I would still go back though, loved it.

A great holiday!

We travelled with my parents (who have been coming to the hotel for quite a few years now) and our little 7 month old baby. We really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast and dinner were beautiful and had plenty of choice of food to eat. Plenty of sunbeds and swimming pools were a nice temperature. We paid extra for a superior room with sea view and it was lovely. Local super markets very close to the hotel and a lovely walk every morning beside the sea. Cleaners were all very friendly and made a lovely little play area in our bedroom for our little baby. We would definitely return to the hotel!

Overall enjoyable stay, couple mid 40's

I really didn't know what to expect reading reviews. We travelled as a mid 40s couple and this is my last night after spending a week at this hotel. You don't need to stress, the hotel has a range of clientele, granted a lot are older (return customers) but there was plenty age ranges in the mix. The hotel was celebrating 50 yrs and granted it has a lot of dark wood, dated public areas but I'd guess original design, not offensive. Rooms are clean, great shower and house keeping keep everything in order.
Food was great, we stayed all inclusive and loved the theme nights. We were fed really well throughout our stay and enjoyed all inclusive drinks too.
The pool areas were great and there were lots of sunbeds considering this is right in the busy summer season.
There is a descent entertainment but my only complaint is, it finishes early. Deciding to use our balcony 10.30pm after the entertainment finishes we had drinks on the balcony and played cards, unfortunately it's light out at 11.08pm. All the hotel balcony lights go off in the hotel so your unable to continue any later and you have no control for balcony lights to continue.
We found all the restaurant staff, reception staff and house keeping very friendly....until today, our last day.
My partner stayed at the table in the restaurant to order our drinks to the table while I went to choose my food. I returned and noone had took any order. Many servers /staff passed our table but never approached until I returned to the table and took the order from me. There seemed to be a change off restaurant staff today. The usual team were very attentive, not today. There was a definite shift in the restaurant due to the staff how they looked after everyone. We then went for evening drinks and again my partner stood waiting to order at the bar, the barstaff seemed to take orders from all the woman and it took someone new coming to bar being served, to highlight my partner still hadn't been served any drinks. The staff member was very rude in mannerism, snatching the all inclusive card from my partner. I decided to try out this theory going to order the drinks later and I had no challenge from the bar staff, served straight away. This definitely has left a bad taste. We enjoyed 6 days out of 7 of our holiday with everyone being helpful, polite but throughout today, definitely a different experience.
Very happy in general with the hotel. To note, there are steps throughout the hotel, to pools, bedrooms, and the dining area.
We had a wonderful time but can't believe the change of experience the staff can make on your stay on our last day, which is sad really.

Good place to stay, but a big divide between AI & HB.

Just returned from our 3rd stay at the Vik San Antonio this year. On the two previous occasions we went all inclusive, this time as we’re not big drinkers and rarely have a large lunch, decided to take the half board option. What we were unaware of was being on a half board basis we weren’t entitled to tea & coffee making facilities in the room and we would now be charged 11 euros for the use of the safe, I don’t know how much they were charging for the kettle but they asked 7 euros for two cups, we also didn’t get a complimentary bottled water, unlike previously stay. After some persuasion they did allow a free safe, kettle and two cups and a bottle of water. I did get the feeling we weren’t treated as well as we would have been, had we gone all inclusive.
Disappointing really as they gave us a very nice suite room for the 5 days we were there. Overall it’s still a nice place to stay and the staff are all very pleasant, the entertainment each night is ok and the whole place is kept very clean.
Still the usual gripes, Luke warm breakfast items, not sure the trays they have the food on are heated from below.
Showers at times can be dangerous, due to the sudden temperature fluctuations and as the majority of clientele are getting on in years, the lack of grab handles in some bathrooms.
The hotel is in a perfect location, but needs work in some areas.
