Old school Spanish hotel. Well placed, clean and friendly staff

The hotel has more stars than it deserves.

The hotel claims to have air conditioning and heating, but it depends on the hotel's management when it is turned on. You can go in October and freeze because they do not turn on the heating on a cold day, or you can go in May and roast because it is not the time to turn on the air conditioning in a room that is almost 30º. Additionally, the electricity went out at 10:30 PM, and the emergency light above the door illuminated the room as if it were daytime. It was impossible to sleep until the power returned hours later. The bed does not have a comforter but rather blankets, which I do not know if they are washed every time guests change, making this choice seem very unhygienic. The hotel is furnished with cheap furniture that is quite old but is in reasonable condition. The bedspreads are just as old, and that does not seem so reasonable. The toilet paper is not in rolls but in a dispenser of loose sheets that cannot be any thinner. And the soundproofing between rooms is nonexistent: you can hear absolutely everything with total clarity. In summary, it is incomprehensible that we are talking about a 4-star hotel.

You have a star left over

I don’t know who awards the stars to the hotels or what criteria they are based on but this one has been given an extra one. Old-fashioned, very uncomfortable beds, small and slow elevator, they do not solve anything, the buffet are four trays of sausage that put on top of the bar bar, etc... Anyway, I would have liked to read a review like this before catching it, a peeled THREE STAR.

Embarrassing paid breakfast and total absence of soundproofing

The location is perfect because close to the Roman Bridge and all the clubs / restaurants are within walking distance. Reserve in advance parking for the motorcycle in the hotel garage. Room of right amplitude. Too expensive for the services offered. Paid breakfast embarrassing to say the least , you save only coffee, only a few things packaged and a few slices of bread and two slices of sausages. It would still be shameful even if it were included in the price. Never seen such a thing in a 4 star hotel but not even in a guesthouse rather better not to give this Service if done this way. Another cons is the total absence of soundproofing of the rooms, in our attic we heard all that of the close room and not for noisy guests but for the total absence of isolation.

One star too many

Hotel Imperion is a smaller hotel on the border with Cangas de Onis. We stayed there for three nights.
On arrival, the booked room with two single beds was not available. Instead, we were offered a room with a bed 130 wide. Nice for a young couple, but not what we wanted. Fortunately, the receptionist was very helpful and something could still be pushed, so we still got a room with two beds. It wasn't very big and in addition, in front of the hotel, where you hear the sound of traffic and people talking all night.
The beds are good and so are the pillows. The bathroom has a bathtub with shower. Some facilities except soap are missing.
Breakfast is used by many guests outside the hotel. However, for €10 you can have a simple breakfast with excellent coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Parking is available in three small spaces next to the hotel or in the private parking garage for a fee.
The staff deserves an honorable mention in terms of kindness.
Imperion is a nice, somewhat dated hotel, which deserves the designation three rather than four stars.
