Great location!

Perfect location, as it is across the street from Corte Ingles ! My room looked just like the picture. The receptionist was sweet and helpful! The only con was that you had to pay an euro for a coffee capsule for the room's Keurig, which was weird.

Good value for money

The pictures on the website reflects the room you get, the bedroom and bathroom was spacious. The bed was super comfy after exploring the area for 4 days
Didn’t experience anything negative and was a good base for the Metro, you could be a lot more central however would come with price tag whereas this is next to an easy metro line to figure out and is a good quality accommodation

Madrid experience

This hotel was a very unique experience. It was located on the 5th floor of a residence building. We had a little trouble finding since the only sign was a little paper attached to the wall by the door. But, the rooms were very nice! It was very roomy and clean! And it was located close to the metro! We were able to get all over Madrid very easily from our hotel! We loved our stay there!

Much better than the usual city centre Madrid hostal

N40°25.797' W3°42.922' Madrid is a difficult city to find a good price/quality ratio hotel room. Up to the €150 per night mark, most hostels/hotels in the city centre share the same pros and cons:
Advantages:
- Perfect location.
- Clean rooms.
Downsides:
- Lots of outside street noise.
- Paper-thin walls inside.
- Small rooms with (very) small bathrooms.
- Smell of drainage and mould in bathrooms.
- No breakfast in the hostel/hotel or a voucher for a simple breakfast in a local street café.
- Early 20th century buildings with lacking maintenance and small and failing lifts.
Remarkable, most of these hostels/hotels have a high TripAdvisor rating and many excellent reviews, irrespectively of the mentioned drawbacks and additional disadvantages. For instance: prostitutes in front of the hostel (Hostal Go Inn Madrid at #3); unprofessional staff members (Lapepa Chic B&B at #4); no ventilation in the bathroom (Hostal Art Madrid at #9); small beds (Hostal la Prensa at #15).
The high number of excellent reviews bothered me and on a closer look, many reviews belong to the category “excellent-3-line-review-without-photo”. Have accommodations found a way to manipulate their unpaid ranking on TripAdvisor, like website administrators manipulate their unpaid ranking in search engines by search engine optimisation, now that large scale analyse & quantification of travel reviews by companies like TrustYou is gaining market importance? We will see, but for now was our choice of Hostal Overnight Madrid at #37 any better?
Hostal Overnight Madrid is located 1.7 kilometre from the busy tourist centre of Madrid around Plaza Puerta del Sol. It takes a save 15-minute walk from the Opera along the large Calle de la Princessa or three underground stops to underground station Argüelles where lines 4 and 6 stop. Lines 6 and 8 connects within 1 hour with Adolfo Suarez Barajas Aeropuerto Terminal 4. We arrived late at night, after the receptionist left. The day before we received by email the keypad number of our room. Very effective and efficient procedure.
Hostal Overnight Madrid, on the fifth floor, opened in 2016. Hostal El Brezo on the third floor is older and of the same owner. Two large apartments on both sides of the tiny lift were converted in 10 modern and for Spanish hostal measurements large rooms with private bathrooms. Calle de la Princessa is a busy and noisy street, but our room 501 in April 2017 with a view on El Corte Inglés department store was well isolated from outside noise. No problem with noise from next door. At night, we slept with a small open window and the street noise did not keep us awake. The split air conditioning unit worked well.
The room was equipped with a large double bed with large duvet, good shower, hair dryer, small fridge, Nespresso coffee maker, iron and ironing board, valuable save, large flat screen television and good Wi-Fi reception. The room was cleaned every day and during daytime receptionist offered useful advice. The price was €100 per night. We received a 15% discount by booking direct with the hostal, bypassing online booking websites. No breakfast is included or offered additionally, but Restaurante El Figal around the corner in Calle de Buen Suceso offered excellent Spanish breakfast with Spanish omelette, coffee and orange juice for €5 per person.
Overall, Hostal Overnight Madrid does not suffer from the usual defects of hostals in Madrid city centre: expensive, small, old and noisy. Just a short walk from the epicentre of touristic Madrid, Hostal Overnight Madrid is a much better option. Recommended.

Great choice

Location was great (nice neighborhood, metro station was 50m from the hotel and city center was 4 stops away). Room was very spacious by madrid standards, clean, bed was convenient, bathroom was spacious and modern, TV was huge. There was a coffee machine as well in the room.
Staff was ok, no breakfast available.
The only downside was the fact that the hotel is on the 5th floor of an old building, so you are not getting the feeling of staying on a hotel.
Overall, great choice on a very reasonable price. Don't be afraid of the location, it is really very convenient (metro is just outside of the building), you can get easily in 10 min in city center while Plaza Espana, Gran Via and Templo de Debod are on a walking distance (10-15 min max).
