Budget friendly hostel in heart of Madrid

Budget friendly hostel in heart of Madrid. Hotel located on prime location. Walking distance to metro station. Room is neat and clean. Staff are kind and supportive. Hotel check out time is 12pm. Even though hostel they have attached bathroom.

Accommodation.

It is understood that it is a hostel, and with that comes the "economical" aspect; its only advantage is the location. They have terrible customer service; the entrance hallway and the first building have a bad smell. They placed me in a room in the second building, and there is no elevator to access it. So we had to take the elevator from building 1 to the fifth floor, then walk through rooms (like a maze), reach building 2, and go down to the fourth floor. Now imagine making that journey with heavy suitcases since we are traveling from Panama, and then every day, with two being elderly adults and one in particular having back and kidney problems. I reiterate, we understand about the hostel and that it is therefore more economical, but at least inform us that it is not recommended for people of a certain age... oh, of course, you won't do that because no one would book. I have heard several complaints from guests. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Good

This very well-located hotel is ideal, on Puerta Del Sol in the heart of the city, excellent value for money, good welcome, clean, well-maintained, the people at the reception are very good.

Near the centre which is good. Right in the centre actually. Easy check in. Comfortable bed. Good shower.
Noise outside at night, including a rhythmic thumbing sound. To be honest it affected my sleep. No A/C either. Not my worst night ever, but not my best either.

Excellent price-service ratio

This is the third time I have arrived, and I would gladly return. Next to the Plaza Puerta del Sol and easily accessible by metro from the airport. And in the midst of the interesting parts of downtown Madrid. Very clean and safe.
