Fantastic place

Fantastic budget hotel right in the heart of everything in the beautiful town of Nerja. The whole place was spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly. Would recommend this place to people of all ages

The most abusive and inappropriate customer service in my 30 years of using hotels/Guest Houses

Bright, relaxing, clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful terrace with mini pool , seating, tables and kitchen.
I loved coming here- repeat customer- and stayed 4/5 times.
However- last week I was subjected to twisted, toxic, sinister, abusive, patronizing, provoking behaviour from the manager.
His nonsense started just after I checked in, which left me furious and did the opposite of what I wanted to do, which was relax.
Received a WhatsApp message from him telling me to leave the room tidy - the false accusation was I'd left my room "untidy/desorganizada." Not dirty, but messy. That is a total lie. And he had no proof. And why on my 4th/5th stay would I suddenly become messy? I was barely in the room.
I have worked as a chambermaid, I know very well what a messy/disgusting room can look like.
He has an issue with me leaving the heating on. At night the room was cold and yet they refused even a duvet or blanket ( see photo ) that's why the heating was on.
I am free to use air con/heating with no restrictions and yet that makes me messy?
Any rubbish was in the bin - how is that messy?
Towels can be left on the ground - I do that to show the chambermaids they were used.
So I did nothing wrong and there were no signs in the room telling me to do any of what he criticized me for. He is wrong. I was right.
And yet no apology, only further criticism about how I was reacting to his lies and abuse. Doubling the abuse. This is the manager of a guesthouse where I am a repeat customer!! If he treated all guests like this he´d have no guests!
I was rightly upset and challenged the person writing the messages. What followed was a long, petty, demeaning and condescending exchange in which he refused to apologise and insulted me more.
He had no examples, no proof, and nobody had mentioned this to me after I checked out weeks earlier.
The screenshots attached show him flitting from "oh it's ok if you're tidy, that's fine" to accusing me of having rubbish everywhere and towels everywhere.
He should have apologized for the upset caused, if he valued customers.
Even if it had been slightly messy (it wasn't), tidying the room is not my job as a guest, it is included in the hotel price.
There are no signs saying ¨tidy your room¨. I felt as if he was my mother, and I was a chid! ¨tidy your room!¨ ( obviously leaving dirt is not ok -and I didn't).
The person who wrote the messages called himself "Gregorio."
I emailed "Gregorio" on his private email and the generic email last Wednesday. It is now Monday of the following week and no response.
This is the really twisted part;
I was told by the abusive texter, that I would speak to the abuisve texter -who caled himself Gregorio - on the morning after the whats app messages were sent. But ¨Gregorio¨ was nowhere to be found, and a man called Rafael (who I am sure was the abusive texter) wanted me to talk to him instead. I asked him to read the detailed complaint emails, as he was the manager on shift, but he would not read the emails (why?) and he said that I should wait for Gregorio, who, I am sure, is him.
And surprise surpse, Gregorio never came.
Rafael refused to call Gregorio on the phone, for obvious reasons (same person). I have the right to follow the complaints process, but Rafael refused to act on the emails sent, and I assume he has not forwarded them to the owner either.
Rafael, whose behaviour in person was as awful as his messages, proceeded to argue with me over the complaint form to the council and was so aggressive he suggested we call the police.
Dramatic, impolite and unstable behaviour.
He refused to give his full name.
This is preposterous and surreal behaviour from someone who doesn't seem well.
His messages included "you have ruined your own day" and "go for a swim," "how do you define untidy?" - in other words, let me speak to you however I wish and this is your fault. I had told him I was already stressed on arrival, needed a break, had come to relax, not to be goaded and insulted.
In thirty years of hotel stays I have never encountered such twisted, disgraceful treatment of a guest.
Despicable and outrageous. Paying 60+ euros to be insulted and bullied by a man, especially as a woman travelling alone.
So sad, because it is a perfect location and the female staff are so nice and I had such peaceful times there before this madness.

Good but noisy !

Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced and about ten or fifteen minutes walk to balcon de europa and the main plaza. It’s also around the corner to the main bus stop so good location.
My room was facing the Main Street so unfortunately it was very noisy especially with mopeds/
Scooters throughout the night. Ear plugs were available in the room so says it all really.
Pool was closed and empty - I had intended to use the pool but I wasn’t informed prior to arrival .

Five nights in Nerja April 2025

Got bus from Malaga city to Nerja bus station( not really a station just the last bus stop). Naim Guest house about 100 yards to the right from bus stop. It was raining when we got off the bus and we had told them our arrival would be circa 6pm. We arrived at 6 pm but could not get entry to lobby. They never gave us the code for the door when we booked. After 2 phone calls we got the door code to access the lobby. They then phoned back and gave us our room number. Apartment is small with a cooker, fridge, microwave and other kitchen utensils. The room and bathroom were both very clean. Pool on roof is small but would be nice if weather was hot and less windy. Roof area cleaned every day. Roof area has fridge, kitchen etc for those rooms with no kitchen. Roof area is great for sun bathing and chilling. Cafe on ground floor. The whole building is kept very clean. Good wifi. A few local cafes nearby and about a 15 minute walk to the sea and a load of restaurants. Suitable for a 3/4 night break as only 2 kitchen chairs in the room to sit on. Overall experience was good.
