The weirdest hostel I’ve ever stayed at 😐
The common area shuts down at 11 p.m. — so you can’t even finish your book on the couch because the couches and tables are closed off. Meanwhile, the city outside is still alive and partying all night.
Great place if you’ve just survived a long flight and your only goal is to sleep. But if you’re looking to socialize, meet people, or actually enjoy the hostel atmosphere… good luck. 😆
I’m not a teenager anymore, so I’m definitely not expecting a crazy party hostel, but I’ve stayed in much better hostels with a much more relaxed vibe.
The staff were nice and professional, but some of the rules and the overall atmosphere are a little strange for a hostel. It feels more like a strict sleeping pod where you can quickly grab a bite, take a shower, go to bed, and disappear until morning.

Good Value Hostel with Everything You Need

Visited Mallorca for the Christmas bank holiday.
The hostel closed for a short break on the final day of my stay, so it was quieter than I expected—though this didn’t detract from the experience.
Location:
The hostel is well situated on a main bus route from the city center. It’s just a short walk down steps to the marina, a slightly longer (uphill) walk to the castle, and close to the Porto Pi shopping center and nearby eateries.
Room/Comfort:
The room is essentially a large dorm with beds along both walls—around 16 beds in my room, so it’s not the quietest. Each bunk has a locker underneath, shared between the two bunks above it.
Facilities:
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you’d need to cook or prepare meals, though the fridge was predictably packed (as is typical in hostels). The bathroom is clean and modern, with reliably hot showers. One standout feature: the hostel provides assigned hooks outside the bathroom for hanging towels, along with a dehumidifier to dry them—a thoughtful touch. The lounge and dining area are cozy, if a bit small, and there’s also a laundry area.
Service:
All the staff were polite and spoke English fluently.
Extras:
You can book tours through the hostel, and I believe there’s a computer available for guest use.

Dear guest,
We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Please note that the “alberguista card” is a legal requirement in Mallorca for guests over 30 years old. We understand this may not be convenient, but unfortunately it’s not something we can change, as we must comply with local regulations.
Regarding our staff, we always strive to be kind, helpful, and respectful, which is reflected in the many positive reviews that place us among the top-rated hostels in Mallorca. We’re sorry if this wasn’t your impression during your stay.
We sincerely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us to keep improving.
Kind regards,
Y Hostel Management

The hostel is really nice, specially the reception employees.
Despite this, the hot water was not working, which lowered a bit the quality of my experience.
