The perfect stay!
First- the hotel is stunningly beautiful - and looks exactly like the photos. The A Suite was spacious - and very well appointed. The decor is modern and chic and everything feels like great quality. Bed is firm and comfortable. We had a little trouble getting the AC to stay on but there are big windows that open which brought in a beautiful breeze. The roof deck is simply stunning and overlooks the 11th century Templar Castle which is steps from the back door. It’s a wonderful place to visit for spectacular views of Ponferrada and the surrounding mountains. An equally amazing cathedral is opposite the front door! Great restaurants dot the square and the atmosphere in the evening is relaxed and inviting.
Second, the hosts are wonderful. Monica was so friendly and accommodating - even though we arrived late, she greeted us and showed us around. She also showed us a washer/dryer which guests can use which really helped us for the next week of travels.
I had to conduct a zoom meeting during this stay at a ridiculous hour and Monica allowed me to use the meeting room on the ground floor which was private and a godsend for my husband, who got a good nights’ sleep without me talking all night.
Overall, this is one of the loveliest places I could have asked for. Thank you Monica and Waldo for the incredible hospitality.
