WEEKEND OF LOVE WITH FRIENDS
It's not the first time I've stayed, but I've never put my opinion on it. It is clean, comfortable, whether you are going with friends, with your partner or with family. Very complete and cheap breakfast. And Pepi a sun,

Wonderful cottage and incredible setting!
I cycled to the Parque Natural from Caravaca de la Cruz having thought i had made a booking here, when in fact I had made a mistake and booked the accommodation for the following week! I called from Santiago de la Espada to tell her cycling was slow and that i might not b there until it was night. Even though Pepi the hostess was not expecting me (while I thought she was) she cheerfully offered to come and pick me and my bike up. This was the most wonderful, generous offer! It was my dream come true considering all the climbing I had done so far and still had ahead of me. She sped us back to Pontoons, cheerfully chatting along the way then when we arrived at my lovely cottage she lit a fire for me and gave me plenty of extra wood. The cottage was a gem of a place. It was cosy, warm, clean and very large. I had all I needed. She sweetly offered a discount as I was travelling alone and tried to refuse extra euros for the lift. I had the most delicious yet very cheap dinner and breakfast at the friendly restaurant next door. I thoroughly recommend this place, the parque natural, and bringing your bike here. After leaving Potones I had the most beautiful ride of my life further into the parque natural and around the lake. It is a truly stunning place!

Lovely stay
We choose the Sierra de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas because we wanted to go walking. We chanced upon the refugio and decided to book. We didn't realize the village of Pontones was in a relatively isolated and less busy part of the park, but this for us was an additional bonus. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. There are some great walks about, although some require a bit of driving.
The accommodation is more than adequate for the price. It is well maintained, clean, comfortable, great shower and it has basic amenities like a fridge, small stove and utensils. We greatly enjoyed the wood burner as well. The presence of a double bed instead of two singles would have made our stay even better, but it was not a deal breaker.
Pepi was a great host, who also provided a lovely breakfast every morning.

Beautiful guest house in a wonderful little village
We stayed here just the one night, but would have loved to have stayed longer. The accommodation was very modern, very spacious and spotless. It is in a beautiful little village with the Segura river (little more than a stream at this point) running through it. If you are in the area then make sure you take the short trip to source of the Segura which is a quite spectacular hole/cave in the ground! There are a couple of bars next door, and also places to eat. The Refugio does a very nice simple breakfast of freshly blitzed tomatoes, fresh bread and Serrano ham and more which I can't remember. It is a beautiful part of the world, and this is a perfect place to stay to explore it. I would definitely recommend it.

Supera mis expectativas
Apartamento de 2 habitaciones con dos camas y sofá cama. Colchones estupendos (excepto el del sofá cama que, como es lógico, era más endeble).
Mosquiteras en todas las ventanas, vistas espectaculares desde el dormitorio y salón de la segunda planta, cocina bastante equipada (tostador, batidora, ensaladera, platos, vasos, tazas de dos tamaños, copas, ollas, rallador……)
Salón-cocina amplio. El baño no era tan amplio, pero correcto y bien equipado (ducha muy espaciosa, bidet, estantes, multitud de toalleros, secador, muchas toallas….)
Abundante ropa de cama (mantas y almohadas en armarios…..)
Dueña amable y atenta.
Aparcamiento privado en superficie pero techado.
No podía estar más limpio (ni pelusas, ni polvillo en los pies al caminar descalzos, ni manchas sospechosas, ni olores “raros” o camuflados).
Por ponerme tiquismiquis: no tiene ascensor. Aunque la pendiente de la escalera y el tamaño de los escalones hace que no te pese subir a un segundo piso.
