Great little campsite

Great campsite with very friendly and helpful welcome
The plots are spacious and shaded and having a large motorhome the owner helped with useful directions to ensure we cleared the trees.
The shower and toilet block was immaculately clean with plenty of facilities for the size of the site
Nice restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner and very good value.
We were the only touring motorhome mid week but there are seasonal residents and guests in the rooms.
It was very quiet and peaceful when we were there in April so a bit out of season for families etc
Highly recommend

See you soon !!

Clean, quiet, good service and good price...we were delighted with everything. It has an ideal cafeteria for breakfast and something to eat. It is well located to visit the Jerte Valley and the surrounding towns. We will return without a doubt!!

Not for us.

We arrived at the site early afternoon. Immediately we were both concerned about the campsite so we decided to walk around the site before checking in. We didn't like what we saw and felt very uncomfortable. The site resembled a gypsy encampment with touring caravans hooked up to mains, lots of green mesh that you normally see in garden centres used to cover the caravans. Children's toys and bikes lying around plus some of the caravans had what looked like dog runs at the front.
However, we did check the bathroom facilities etc and they were immaculate. We decided it was not for us so left. It may well be a wonderful site but first impressions matter.

A great option for travellers following the Via de la Plata

Camping Las Catalinas offers a very pleasant place to stay either while visiting the area surrounding Riolobos, or just passing through. The sites are well-sized, grassy, shaded lots, and the facilities are clean and well kept. The municipal swimming pool next door is very nice. The general atmosphere is pleasantly quiet and family oriented. If there is any downside, it is the lack of a shop within the campground itself, but it is only a short walk to any of the shops in town where you can get whatever you need. The restaurant serves satisfying, home-cooked meals. We ate supper in the interior patio which was cool and comfortable on a summer’s evening.
The couple who runs Las Catalinas, Nacho and Rosa, are fabulous people with a penchant for ensuring the comfort of their clients. They take a special interest in anyone travelling to Santiago de Compostela following the Via de la Plata. We stayed there on the sixth leg of our journey by bike to Santiago having left from Sevilla. We had run into some mechanical difficulties with our bicycles some days earlier and found that these had worsened after unloading our bags at the campsite. We were afraid that we might end up having to abandon our trip if we didn’t find a way to repair a broken piece. Having explained our predicament to Nacho, he took the bicycle into his workshop where he worked on it until midnight, fixing the broken piece and allowing us to continue on our way the following day. In return, he asked only that we remember them upon our arrival, which we most certainly did as the repair held through to the end of our trip. All in all, it is an example of how Rosa and Nacho are focused on a devotion toward helping others, and this is reflected in all aspects of Camping Las Catalinas.
