Carranza (high-pitched neighbourhood)

A place to forget about the tensions of the day to day, spectacular surroundings surrounded by green mountains , friendly place, lovely staff Maika the owner a lovely woman, and good cook, her sister who bowls ☺️ is a heaven, a place highly recommended if you want to do a mountain route and eat in a different place.

Fabulous Gem

Most beautiful setting with mountain views. Nice pool, uncrowded. Excellent quality food and good menu choice. The most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Dryer and shower gel/soap included.
Secluded and so relaxing.
Definitely will return.

A Piece of Heaven

Although it was last July when I stayed at Gailurretan, my experience there still remains as one of the best stays I've ever had. A little hard to share a gem when you find one, but Gailurretan and Maike deserve the highest praise. I spent 6 nights there, travelling solo. The location is beyond stunning and has to be seen to be believed. The beautiful traditional house is spotless and each room is decorated with a different theme. The pool area is surrounded by shaded trees to laze under and just gaze at the incredible view of the valley. It truly is a haven of peace and tranquility. Every guest I spoke to shared the feeling that it feels like a home from home. Maika is the most welcoming, natural and warm host who strives to make your stay at Gailurretan the best that it can be. I arrived as a guest and left as a friend. The food is fabulous and the vibe is low key. A place like this is a rare find and I look forward to my next visit!

A walk through the clouds

At the foot of Mount Balgerri stands majestic and serene a beautiful baserri converted into a rural house run by Maika, an exceptional hostess who will delight us with exceptional home cooking and impeccable service. From its splendid terrace the view is lost on the horizon between green peaks that caress velvet clouds and timid sunbeams. So, sitting there with a glass of wine in hand, the bucolic landscape invites peace, gathering and deep reflection; and to ask the question of whether it is worth returning to the city to do again what we consider so important and whether it would not be better to stay there to find the answer about what really matters.

Great, very delicious food and excellent service.. Cozy and homemade. A little out of the way but worth it. All very delicious dishes. Finger-licking homemade tiramisu! And the mussels to take home…………………………………………………………..
