Boutique chic or old and tatty?

There is no doubt that this 1 star hotel has character. The reception is full of antiques/objets d’arts- feast your eyes…..
Our ground floor room was filled by the double bed with just enough room to pass on either side. The bathroom was a contortionist’s dream. The only way to close the door was to step into the shower cubicle.
The lady on desk duty when we arrived made it clear that she was not the receptionist and shoved a key in our direction (she makes a reappearance later). Her more welcoming manager was more pleasant and helpful assuring us that a request for breakfast at 8:05 (10 minutes early) would not be a problem.
Following a night listening to the adjacent room’s plumbing and the creaking floorboards in the room above we attempted breakfast at 8:05. No chance! The lady who had checked us in was having no one in her dining room ahead of schedule.
We like quirky hotels but this one is not cheap. It is though, definitely a one star residence.

The hotel is at a great location, very close to the beach. There is free parking nearby on the streets, but it can get hard to find free space. The hotel is very nice inside, full of paintings and art. The room was less fancy, pretty basic and small, but nice and clean. The bathroom is also tiny, but clean. The wifi worked, but was quite slow at times.

Hotel rooms were way too small, the breakfast was bad, no elevator and my room was on the 3rd floor. I have knee problems and it eeally affected me. Bathroom toilet had a slanted roof on top of it and no one can fit to use it.

Lovely hotel and wonderful, welcoming staff.

Lovely cute boutique hotel!
All the staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Always welcoming.
Rooms were small but cosy, clean and tidy. The hotel was central and easy to walk to everything. The beach was lovely. Would highly recommend this hotel!
