wonderful hotel

The hotel is in a wonderful location, everything was accessible quickly and easily, we could see the plaza through our hotel window, the room was neat, cozy, great beds, the reception staff were very nice, warmest wishes to them. One morning we chose breakfast, the food was fresh, varied, very tasty, I will definitely return to this hotel, the rest was wonderful.I am very glad that we chose this hotel for our vacation

Very old.

A very old hotel. It is not appropriate to have a hotel like this in these times. This hotel is only saved by its location; I cannot conceive of having a single repeat customer. No one in their right mind would return. Cockroaches, bad odors, drains that do not work, cabinets and furniture from the 1970s. They settled for a small renovation at the reception, painting the rooms and changing the floors. But the light switches, doors, faucets, ceilings, air conditioners, etc. are filthy. This hotel under normal conditions does not even reach two stars. It needs a TOTAL renovation, to tear it down. If you come, do not bring luggage, bring a paleontological excavation team. It is the only hotel in the world where the walls are worth more than the building itself. They have paintings by Ressendi on display. The style is grotesque expressionism; I mean, they are so ugly that my partner slept with the light on just in case the painting came to life and stole our kidneys. Ideal for lovers of cursed art and strong emotions. The paintings in the hallway watch you with the face of having committed three crimes. Ressendi was a genius, but his characters look worse than I do on a Monday morning.
The hotel is so old that in the hallways there are paintings that are spectacular works of art, but if you get up to go to the bathroom in the dark and run into the bullfighter-monkey, I assure you that your constipation will be cured instantly.
I have slept in huts in caves in Afghanistan and felt less fear.
In short, spend 30€ more and go to the Meliá next door. At least there the cockroaches will not carry you out on their shoulders.

Hotel taken from the series Cuéntame.

Very old rooms, with few amenities. In the bathroom, there is a gel and a shampoo on the wall, and on the sink, gel and body wash, and nothing else. You can hear the neighbors as if they were in the room with you. They are not very friendly at the reception either; you ask questions, and it seems they answer you as if they are doing you a favor. The situation to get to the Icónica is good; it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the venue. For a 4-star hotel, it is very limited; I would rate it as 2 stars, being generous.

Little attention to detail.

Great location, spacious rooms, and a wide variety of sweet and savory foods at breakfast, all of excellent quality. It's a pity that they get lost in details... In a 4-star hotel, I expect at least a complimentary bottle of water and an electric kettle to make herbal tea at the end of the day, but in the deluxe room, there was neither one nor the other. Moreover, having been unwell one night and having requested a chamomile tea (served in a paper cup!!!), I was charged an extra fee!!!
One of the 3 nights spent in this hotel, I requested a room change due to a malfunction in the air conditioning of the adjacent room, which caused a very loud and continuous noise, and I was given a lower-level room despite other deluxe rooms being available.

Generally good, but improvement possible

Great location, room more than adequate, so I'm generally happy
Two points though:
1. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Not even a kettle. This is to some extent mitigated by the fact that there's a coffee machine in reception (no tea), and this is allegedly available all the time. The trouble is, it isn't. It’s turned off when breakfast is being served and when the bar is open, and that's quite a lot of the time. The idea is, I suppose, that one is meant to go and buy tea and coffee at the bar. This seems to me to be unreasonable, perhaps even cynical
2. Some of the reception staff could perhaps do with a little training in the art of dealing with the public. Not all, but a few of them were remote and apparently uninterested in the guests. Heads were kept firmly down and eye contact was hard to come by. This doesn't create a welcoming atmosphere at all

Very good location
