Honeymoon trip
Our stay at SL Hotel was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Every single member of staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The reception team were warm, friendly, and always happy to help, the restaurant staff provided excellent service, and room service was prompt and professional. The quality of everything—from the rooms to the food and overall experience—was outstanding.
The hotel itself is spotless, beautifully maintained, and there genuinely wasn't a single fault with our stay. Every detail was taken care of, making it one of the best hotel experiences we've had.
The location is another huge advantage. It's just a short distance from the centre of Ahangama, so you're close enough to enjoy all the cafés, restaurants, and beaches, while still being far enough away to escape the noise, as Ahangama can be quite lively. It really is the perfect balance.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend SL Hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Totally amazing place by the ocean
Totally amazing and recommended hotel with such a beautiful views by the ocean. Delicious food, very kind staff, specially lady at the reception. Never been to most beautiful place ❤️

Stay away from this hotel.
Extremely overpriced and absolutely not worth the money. The swimming pool was dirty, the rooms were noisy, there were very limited in-room facilities, and you can’t even order food after 10 PM.
I cancelled my reservation after the hotel agreed to give me a full refund. They took my money, but I never received it. Instead, I was given conflicting explanations and no proof that any refund was ever processed.
The worst part was being told that my refund was being withheld because I posted an honest review. Based on my experience, this hotel is manipulative, unprofessional, and I would never recommend it.

Fantastic start to our honeymoon
The stay was excellent and we slept incredilbly well here. We were fortunate enough to have a 2nd floor room so our view out to the sea is as good or better than the marketing photos. Watching the surfers across at Devils Rock was awesome!
Location is very good, 1500 rs for a tuktuk to welingama or a little more to Mirissa. Staff were always smiling and accommodating. Even making us a packed breakfast at 5.30am before going whale watching.
The downsides for us was the restaurant food options were limited, especially breakfast. Its a menu rather than buffet. Sometimes simple cereal / toast options is all thats needed. That said the coffee was incredible. Ask for the cappucino - eat your heart out Italy!

Beautiful hotel, but noisy with limited amenities.
Liked :The hotel was absolutely stunning! Our room was very spacious, also balcony and lounge with a gorgeous view, and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was generously sized and everything was impeccably clean. The hotel restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! Also, what a place for a sunset view :)
Disliked: Some attention to detail was lacking considering the price of this hotel. For example, there was a glass bottle of water in the fridge but no glasses to drink from, and there was no tea or coffee in the room unless you text reception — there are no room service phones in the room, and messages aren’t always seen. The hotel was also very noisy due to heavy road traffic on the main street. Additionally, we assumed the pools were for swimming, but two are decorative and the other is small, more like a dipping pool for kids. Finally, the hotel hosts parties on Thursdays, and our last night coincided with one. We had planned to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, but due to the party, it was impossible. Had we known about the party in advance, we would have arranged alternative dining plans.
