AMAZING The room and the owner. We had such a great time

A superb experience with the room, which was very large, had a super comfortable bed, and a beautiful, large balcony. Above all, the owner's kindness stood out. He was always looking after us, even arriving at 11 p.m. on the first day when there was no transportation available, so he drove us downtown. We were very happy, and the price was a 10/10.
Also is super close to everything it’s just 5’ in tuktuk to ella center and also to the little adam’s peak just 30’ walking in a very nice path!!!

off the beaten path & then some

Stayed 2 nights, have to get a tuk tuk from Ella town but the drivers are reluctant or charge you stupid amounts because the road is in bad condition / steep. The place is quite remote, kind of in a tea field. We ended up walking most of the time.
Arrived 2pm and no one was around, we thought the place was closed. Rang the number on booking website and told someone would be round. All a little strange and not the best customer service.
Once we were checked in we were left to our own devices and didn’t really feel any staff presence other than breakfast. Several other guests tried to check in after us & no one was around so we told them they need to call.
Room was okay, bed was very comfy and had mosquito net but there was not much space around bed to move. Bathroom could have been cleaner & there were a lot of dead bugs on floor/under bed. I think this needed a quick spruce before we were checked in as no one seemed to have been there for a little while.
Location wise this is a very good spot for the popular walking trails - little Adams peak / 9 arch bridge.
Access wise there needs to be a little improvement - maybe some little solar lights / reflectors to help guests find their way through the dirt tracks once it’s dark because it really is a remote spot to access and there’s no signage on the homestay.
I’ve tried to review this as fairly as possible. There are many good reviews so when we arrived here we felt we were a little mislead.

Owner sent information to booking.com that we never stayed at the property

It was a very nice room with a very nice view. The water and electricity didn’t work a few times, but it should be understandable as you are in the middle of a jungle. What I didnt like though, is that because the lack of water and electricity was a problem to my friend who booked another room, the owner of the place put an information on booking.com that we never stayed at their place, just so he avoids a bad review. That’s not how you handle bussiness.

Lovely view, amazing breakfast!

We really liked our 4 nights at this place! Vino is great, very kind and helpful! Everything was great:
- great breakfast
- amazing view
- hot water & WiFi
- vino can pick u up from the train station (for a fee)
- location: away from the city & noise (I personally loved the walk to the homestay)
- price

A bit far from centre, very nice service

We were in Isuru for three days. The object is located on the hill with a nice view. The owners are super nice (have feed us on the evening when there was a storm and no option to go to the centre). The breakfast is very tasty (great hoopers). If you need, there is an opportunity to put your stuff into the fridge of the owner. Two minuses are yellow water and a lot of insects in the room (especially ants). Also the hostel is located about 30min walk from the main street of Ella (but close to nine arch bridge and little Adam's peak) so if you like to walk it is ok, if not, tuk-tuk is the only option. The price of the room is very good so if you are ok with the location and those two drawbacks, you can book it and enjoy the stay with great breakfast.
