Boutique hotel experience
This is a safe address in Kollupitya for a calm stay in the city centre. The area is best for short distance walks to cafés, museums and art galleries. It has a blend of colonial and modern tropicalism architectures.
The hotel is really well adjusted to the initial 3 houses that were bridged together into one, with multiple corridors and openings letting light and air through.
A recent addition of a veranda on the rooftop allows for dining even in changing weather conditions.
The team is always very welcoming and enthusiastic about providing excellent hospitality.
Great service by Mohammed at the reception, Zaffran in the cloud café, Prashanth at the poolside restaurant and Kamal in the housekeeping.

It was an elegant time.
It was a good time to have a relaxing time, to make a typical Sri Lankan building, and to have a squirrel appear during breakfast.
Asagi rice is also delicious,
Pizza in the restaurant was delicious at night
The wind feels good and the air feels great

Concerned Tourist
A Serious Safety Concern That Should Not Be Ignored
I stayed at Colombo Court Hotel & Spa a few years ago, not in 2025. During my stay, I became seriously concerned about the very strong suction in the swimming pool.
I raised this concern with the management at the time, as I felt that if someone's hair, clothing or body became caught in the suction, they could potentially be trapped underwater with devastating consequences. I did not feel that my concern was taken seriously enough.
I was reminded of this recently after reading about the tragic deaths of a couple in Spain in an incident involving suction from a hot-tub system.
My greatest concern is for children, particularly a young girl with long hair, who could be especially vulnerable to suction entrapment.
I sincerely hope the hotel has had the pool's suction system and drain covers professionally inspected and tested and has ensured that all appropriate safety measures are in place.
If this issue has already been investigated and fixed, then please accept my apologies for raising the concern again. However, if it has not been addressed, I strongly urge the management to take action now—before a preventable accident occurs.
No hotel should have to wait for a child to be seriously injured or lose their life before addressing a potential danger.

The hotel was OK and the staff were OK. There was a wedding on the day that we checked in and we were unable to use the pool. This was the main reason we booked as it was our last hotel stay before flying home. We were told that we could use the first pool, however the pool was surrounded by guests and it felt uncomfortable and inappropriate to use it. Upon leaving, our room was inspected before we were given permission to exit the hotel which was very intense and wholly unnecessary.
