We stopped by on the way..
The second time we spent the night in Colombo was by chance, because the taxi driver didn~t want to take us from Kurunegala to Unawatuna, so we had to make a stop in the capital. That's how we ended up in Wellawatte. The area is better than the Old Town where we spent the night upon arrival. The hotel attracted us with the price, because we arrived late in the evening and left in the morning. The room is spacious and clean enough. There is no air conditioning, there is a fan. But it wasn't hot. Wi-Fi is normal.
The only drawback is the fungus on the walls, which is known to be unsafe for health.
