Dinner buffet

Terrible stay, don’t book here

Location is absolutely stunning. It is a beautiful historic hotel, and very worth visiting for its charming atmosphere. However I would not recommend staying here. The food in the travelers bar is abysmal, and when we mentioned the fried prawns and tempura vegetables were delivered both soggy and very cold the staff could not have been less interested. Additionally, we booked a sea view room but were “upgraded” to a corner room with a partial view of the see and a primary view of the parking lot. If you book a room facing this parking lot at the front of the hotel, be advised that there is a very very VERY loud club restaurant directly opposite on the green. It is so loud the windows in our room would vibrate, and we could hear the individual lyrics to the words the band was singing. Even with earplugs, there will be no sleep. Which, sadly, is the primary point of a hotel. I highly recommend the hotel consider some resolution with this restaurant, as I struggle to imagine any guest being okay with the level of noise. Truly regret the time and money spent trying to have a nice stay at this hotel. Don’t make our mistake, run far away from booking here.

Lovely evening

The high tea buffet was exceptional staff were very friendly especially Dimasha. Excellent variety of the tea buffet and caters to adulrs and kids both. Great ambience and very british. Loved it n enjoyed it very much.

Breakfast Buffet

It was a nice breakfast buffet that we had here at Galle Face Hotel. The beach view, great service from team Dimasha, Kavinda, Suranjan and Sampath made everything great. You will see some authentic Sri Lankan dishes in the spread

Lovely old world hotel

We stayed two nights in this wonderful old hotel. My husband had injured his knee so they very kindly upgraded us to a closer room so he didn’t have to walk as far. Our room was loved as was the food. The team at Galle Face Hotel looked after us very well assisting with tuk tuk and directions. Moduka, Dinushi, Belinda and the whole team were amazing.
