One of our favorites!!

We LOVED our stay here; my husband and I were here for 3 nights and we actually had the place to ourselves (yes, they upgraded our room!) The location is perfect; walking distance to everything. The staff is great - so nice. The home is IMPECCABLY clean.
Ginger, their "security" dog is so cute - he was indifferent to us leaving, but we were sad to leave him! Highly recommend and we were sad to leave this property (and Hiriketiya!)

THE BEST 40TH BIRTHDAY AT GPV

This was one of the best holidays thanks to the staff at Ginger Palm Villa!
It was my 40th and we had x2 young kids with us and they accommodated daily to make sure we were all having fun and looked after. They spoilt me on my actual birthday by planning a night on the beach with fireworks, food, cake and music!
The food at the villa was insane and the location of the stunning villa could not be better. Close to shops, cafes and the beach.
I will be returning to this amazing villa as soon as I can, thanks again GPV! We loved every minute of our stay.

Impeccable luxury

Amazing. The place was absolute luxury. Impeccable standard.
But the guys that worked there were even more incredible. Sandeep and the team looked after my wife and I so well.
Their hospitality knew no bounds. Even staying after their shifts at night to make sure we got back safely from our adventures. They really cared.
They took us to the only ethical turtle sanctuary on the south coast
They organised any trips that we wanted to do, checking availability, weather forecast and if it was a worthy day to do the particular activity (for example if elephants had been spotted at the safari then it was a good day to go)
Sandeep even taught me surfing in his time off.
Even though Sri Lanka is an exceptionally friendly place this level of service and friendship was above and beyond any expectation.
Sincere thanks to everyone at the Ginger Palm

An incredible find.

This is an exceptional villa. We were lucky to have a contact here and thought we’d arrived in heaven when we miraculously got a last minute booking. It’s modern, clean, beautifully well designed and kept to the highest of standards by an outstanding team. I’d highly recommend this villa to anyone. It has a lovely family feel, with a TV room, a cupboard full of games and even a beautiful reading area. However it’s also ideal for couples too. The Chef is very talented and you can see much work has gone into perfecting his dishes. We actually cancelled eating out because we thought it was unlikely we would find anywhere better to eat. We could not have been looked after any better. Outstanding.

Ginger Palm Villa - A little slice of Heaven in Sri Lanka…

Ginger Palm Villa is a one of kind experience, the location, the staff, the food, and the Villa itself are fabulous. It is a fully staffed villa but feels like home. We arrived after having spent time elsewhere in Sri Lanka and this was by far the best place we stayed.
Where to begin… firstly the house itself is stunningly designed. It is modern yet fits with the old colonial style of 5 star hotel you would find in Galle. The rooms are modern, spacious, and beautifully designed. Special mention for the beds; one of the comfiest beds I have slept in. Each room has an ensuite and the views from the bedroom and top of the house are fantastic, you really feel like you are in a tropical jungle.
There are lots of communal areas to enjoy, a great courtyard with seating to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea or afternoon drinks and watch the various wildlife pass by. A bar to enjoy evening drinks and a wonderful dining room perfect for catching up over delicious food. There is a TV room, which also has a cupboard full of board games, puzzles and colouring which all the kids enjoyed.  There is another relaxing area just off the courtyard with beanbags, sofa, and table (very useful for the 1000 piece Jigsaw we all wanted to complete). Upstairs there is a library area which is a great place to read and take in the views. The Pool area with loungers and umbrella is well thought out with the perfect mix of sun and shade and the generous size of the pool is fantastic for all to enjoy.
The food - possibly the best food I have eaten on a trip away. Chef Rukman and the owners have created a wonderful menu, highlights being the Chef’s Calamari house salad, Catch of the Day, Sri Lankan Curry night and Lobster night. Breakfasts were also a treat; I would highly recommend the Egg Hoppers and the Sri Lankan Omlette. Fresh fruit is in abundance and so tasty! The children’s menu is varied and suited all the children’s tastes; nothing was too much trouble for the chef.
The staff - from Sandeep the manager who is there to welcome you on arrival and help at any given point, Nilantha,  Suranga, Lakma, all on hand at any time to Sampath, the Gardener. All are so friendly and can’t do enough to make you feel welcome and relaxed. They are so friendly, and you really feel this is a home from home.
The location of the villa is perfect, just a short walk from Hiriketiya beach, the perfect spot to learn to surf, which all the children did. The Villa is also a short walk to numerous bars, cafes, shops, and restaurants.
The staff can help organize trips; we swam with turtles and then later that evening watched newly hatched turtles be released into the sea. We did a Safari around Udawalwe National Park, where we saw so many animals, highlight being a family of
Elephants. We also ventured to an island around 15min Tuk Tuk ride away to walk and explore. There is lots more to explore and Sandeep can help organize any trips.
We were three families coming from different parts of the world, UK, UAE and Australia. Expat friends who wanted to relax, catch up and spend some quality time together. All of which we did thanks to the serenity of Ginger Palm Villa and the fabulous staff on hand. It is the perfect midway place to meet and would be perfect for multi-generational families to get together. We are already planning our trip back in December.
The owners have done an amazing job making this a great place for people to stay and you can tell they are fully invested in making it a success; the staff are amazing, the well designed and thought-out spaces, the great quality furniture, the stylish linen and not to mention all the other small details they have thought of. It really does make for a wonderful guest experience.
