Best Suda Ever

Suda the owner of the place is the most kind and polite person I've ever met in my life without exaggerating. He helped us from the frist day we met him for nothing, just to help us. He was explaining everything that we can do, offered us anything that we need ( his car, scooter, any other help like tickes booking) , he didn't want to take anything for that.
Suda is one of the few people in the world that has this attitude, just helping people as he loves that.
Also we had a lot of interesting discussions, definitely I learnt a lot from him.
Whenever I land to Sri Lanka again, definitely the first thing to do is to Call Suda.
Better Call Suda.

Friendly place to stay

First of all excellent views on Ella Rock and down the valley. Clean rooms and very friendly stuff. A little bit remote from center of Ella so we took tuk-tuk. Waterfall behind hotel and busy road in front of it, so a bit noisy.

At one with nature

Upon arriving in the pouring rain, we were unsure of this hotel as it’s about a 15min walk out of Ella with nothing immediately around it. But after our 1 night stay, we loved it!
The owner is super passionate and so welcoming, he’d messaged us to arrange a pick up from the station which we unfortunately didn’t get in time due to not having internet.
He drove us into town for dinner at no charge and then made us the most wonderful breakfast the next day! String hoppers filled with coconut and honey, deep fried egg samosas, toast, bananas, dahl and tea. Perfect for our pre-hike breakfast.
Make sure you set up your mosquito netting though! Coming back from dinner we had a load of insects in our room. Because Ella has is rich in fauna and natural beauty, you can’t help but be totally relaxed here at Aspa Green! It’s a beautiful stay in a beautiful location!

Good accommodation

We had a nice time at this place, notably because it was very quiet as we were the only guests.
The view from the terrace was beautiful, but more disappointing from our room - we could see the back of the house with garbage and such things... This is not the view we expected when we booked on Booking.com, hence the 4, and not 5 star, rating.
Staff is otherwise very pleasant and kind, especially the owner who gave us a free lift to Wellawaya.
The hotel is not in the centre of Ella, but that's perfect since you avoid the town's hustle and loud music this way.
Recommended.

Beautiful view, fantastic hospitality

I stayed here for 3 nights and, although it's a little distance from the town centre, I had a wonderful stay.
The only down sides were the ants in the bathroom and the fact that it is on a main road on a hairpin bend, so often trucks, buses etc. often sound their horns, although this wasn't a problem at night, when I guess most could see each other's headlights instread!
I had a large, comfortable room with a great view of Ella Rock. There was a great communal terrace for relaxing on, again with a view of Ella Rock. All the staff were really friendly, helpful, hospitable and accommodating. They couldn't do enough to help - picking me up from the train station, cooking food to order at any time it was needed, trying to sort the ants in the bathroom (with air freshener :-/).
Although it's a 10-15 min uphill walk into town, the hospitality of all the staff far outweighed any negatives and I would definitely recommend it!
