Memorable Stay
Although our original plan was to stay for just one night, we ended up spending two nights here due to maintenance work at their sister property. It turned out to be a wonderful experience.
The restaurant team is exceptional and truly embodies genuine hospitality. The F&B Manager, Mr. Mudalige, is an outstanding professional who consistently goes the extra mile to ensure guests are comfortable and well looked after. His team is attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. The meals were delicious, and the chefs were happy to accommodate our dietary preferences and special requests. Most of the staff members were warm and courteous, always making guests feel valued and prioritized. They have a friendly gardener, who was always seen with a welcoming smile, adding to the property's warm and pleasant atmosphere.
Although we experienced some disappointment during the check-out, the exceptional hospitality, warmth, and dedication shown by the team throughout our stay far outweighed this issue. Overall, their genuine care and outstanding service made our stay truly memorable.

Not exactly the relaxing vacation I had in mind
We booked this hotel with the expectation of spending a weekend away from the daily hassle, taking long and relaxing walks along the beach and also enjoying peace and comforts in the room.
Positive factors: Staff were helpful and very courteous.
Issues-
1. Malfunctioning AC Unit: When we woke up in the morning, the AC has malfunctioned through the night and there was a pool of water on the vanity and the floor. Even at that time water was steading dripping down from the AC. We had left our phones and watches on the chargers on that vanity table and had to spend hours drying them with a hair drier. Luckily all items were salvaged. It was a such a nasty shock and could have been avoided by proper maintenance as water leaks happen when its condensate drain line is clogged or due to dirty air filters. Whatever the reason, it could have been avoided with routine but structured maintenance of AC units. This experience ruined our vacation, made us extremely stressed out and unnecessarily hassled. At breakfast when I showed the video of the leak and the water damage to Mr Mudalige, he has informed Mr Dinesh, the manager of the hotel, who apologised and also arranged to clean the room.
2. Breakfast: Upon arrival we were told that there will be menus to select for breakfast and I informed that we prefer 2 Sri Lankan and one continental bfast. At night when I inquired about the menus, I was told that a buffet will be arranged with all items, continental and Sri Lankan, and there is no need to preselect. However, the buffet had no continental breakfast items, not even toast. It is ok to have all Sri Lankan buffet but stating that it does contain continental bfast items and offering none was disappointing.
3. No beach - there is no beach at the hotel. It is eroded and the land ends abruptly into the ocean. We couldnt take a beach walk and we travelled all the way to Galle Fort for the experience. So, eventhough the name of the hotel states KK Beach, one has to be satisfied with no beach. Apparently the beach is restored during the season (Nov - Feb). The hotel has no garden to take strolls nor a gym
Having paid Rs 53000 (on a discount) for a room on BB basis for three persons, the quality of experience we received was poor and underwhelming. Staff apologized for the malfunctioned AC, but if the electrical items were damaged, no apology would restore them.

Regarding the air-conditioning issue, our AC units are checked daily as part of our routine room inspections, as well as serviced on a regular basis. However, on rare occasions, unexpected technical failures can occur despite. We sincerely regret the inconvenience and stress this caused and will review the incident with our maintenance team.
We would also like to clarify our breakfast offering. Our buffet includes both Sri Lankan and continental selections, including croissants, muffins, banana bread, white and brown bread with a toaster for freshly prepared toast, fresh-cut fruits, curd, granola and milk. A selection of coffee, hot chocolate and other beverages is also available. I am therefore at a loss at your claim there was no continental breakfast available.
Regarding the beach, coastal conditions can naturally affect the beach directly in front of the hotel. At certain times of the year, the sea does come right up to the edge of the property, particularly during the monsoon season. The hotel is located on a beach – hence the name - but we cannot control the forces of nature.
We also note your comment regarding the rate of Rs. 53,000. This was the discounted rate for a Suite Room for three guests on a Bed & Breakfast basis, which at approximately US$162 for 3 pax is hardly excessive!

Small luxury boutique hotel right on the beach
The KK Beach Hotel is a small, beautiful boutique on a beautiful beach.
The hotel and the rooms are beautiful, very clean, mottled and furnished with great taste and love.
Each room has a balcony overlooking the Indian Ocean.
The staff are all so friendly, warm and helpful. The service is very good as in top hotels around the world.
If you go to the pool, then an employee comes immediately where you take to a lounger, spread the bath towel nicely, open the umbrella properly and bring water to it and do everything for you.
If it has high waves, you are not allowed to go into the sea in front of the hotel. But the staff from the hotel would go with you to the big beach and there you can almost always swim, is 5 minutes from the hotel.
The food at the hotel is very good, especially the curry and the fish. The desserts were always very good.
Breakfast is also great and you can order from the menu.
I highly recommend the place and would definitely stay there for 5 days.

The ocean was a huge attraction
The rooms had a fantastic ocean view. The room itself was clean, comfortable and spacious.
There was a pool and access to the beach.
The food at the restaurant was fine, but quite expensive and geared more towards the Western palate. There was an excellent selection of fruit thout.
