Perfect place to stay for a surf getaway or long term travellers.

An absoloute gem. Lotus achieves a rural setting for you to laze away the hours between surfs in a hammock listening to the sounds of the jungle and quiet Midigama. All while being a 2 minute walk from the water at Lazy Lefts and Rights. Yelum and his father are two of the most genuine and welcoming people I have ever met and they couldn’t do more to make you stay easy and introduce you to authentic Sri Lankan culture. As an example, my girlfriend hurt her foot surfing and Yelum went and picked up aruveydic balm and tea late at night to help with her healing. We didn’t ask, he just went. Legend. Whether it be learning to make rotti and coconut sambul with Yelum’s mum using fresh spices from her garden or playing Korum (Sri Lankan board game) over a few beers in the evening, this place is a paradise. Rooms are spacious and clean with powerful fans and the breakfast options are delicious. We became addicted to the best cocunut rotti and Sambol in Sri Lanka but the yoghurts, oats and fresh fruit is great after a dawn surf session. The location is also convenient if you want to go out in ahangama or Weligama and look for hipster coffee, smashed avo on toast etc. (we did a couple of times) only 5 - 10 min tuk-tuk rides respectively but always found ourselves comming back to the authentic solitude of Lotus. Surfing wise you can also walk to rams in 5 mins or Plantations/ coconuts in 10 mins. Board racks, storage for your boards if you want to head in to the interior for a few days, ping pong and a kitchen stocked with tea and coffee. Yelum also invited us to the local temple to partake in Buddhist full moon celebrations and alms giving. As you can tell, we really didn’t want to leave.

Amazing vibes, cose to Kabalana and spa is one of the best massages around. Liam is the best surf guide and coach you can possibly get. Cannot recommend this place more.

Super place

I loved it there. The place is amazing and very cozy. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was good and the barbecue the best. The owners and staff was always helpful, smiley and making my stay a really good experience. Lotus Surfhouse is a short walk from a great little beach with some good food places, and right next door is a spa. I can highly recommend this place

Really nice place to stay! The rooms have been very clean and the breakfast was great. The host has been super friendly, the atmosphere in general was a very good one with all this great people.
All in all, I was very satisfied!!!

Absolutely perfect!

The room was very cozy and clean! Also the host is there for you any time and is a really (!) good surf instructor! You can easily book the lessons at the camp which was really nice for me as well.
Also the breakfast was included and was reeeeally good!
Would definitely recommend it!!
