The staff make it!
We had booked to stay at Oruwa Boutique Hotel but had such an awful check-in experience that we left immediately.
Fortunately, we came across Odyssey.
The staff there are so lovely and passionate about giving guests a great experience. The chef was great! A lovely guy and the grilled tuna was absolutely fantastic
Such a good location, close to bars and restaurants, and right on the beach.
It was great coming back from a day in the heat to the pool and air con rooms.
The staff were so lovely that they actually got a gluten free cake delivered from 4hrs away for a guest that was having a birthday and then put on fireworks for him.
Probably one of the best places to stay in Aragum bay.

Great hotel and location
The hotel itself is modern, clean, and well maintained. Our room was comfortable and nicely designed, making it a great place to relax after a day at the beach.
Breakfast was included each morning and was excellent. The Western breakfast came with a fresh fruit plate, eggs, bread, butter, jam, sausage, and your choice of coffee, including cappuccino, latte, or regular coffee. We also tried the Sri Lankan breakfast, which can be pre-ordered, and it was delicious with string hoppers, sambol, dhal, and an omelet. It was a great way to experience the local cuisine.
The staff and manager deserve special recognition. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with any questions or requests.
We did experience a temporary water supply issue, which meant we couldn't shower for a few hours before it was resolved. During our three-night stay, our room also wasn't serviced despite requesting housekeeping. With the amount of beach sand that naturally gets tracked into the room, daily cleaning would definitely improve the guest experience.
Overall, these were relatively minor issues compared to the positives. The beachfront location, comfortable rooms, tasty breakfasts, and genuinely friendly staff made this a hotel we would happily recommend to anyone visiting Arugam Bay.

The Best Hotel in Arugam Bay
The manager and the entire team are incredibly caring and always go above and beyond to make sure guests feel comfortable and well looked after throughout their stay.
The breakfast and meals are absolutely delicious, with great quality food and amazing flavors. The location is simply stunning, perfect for enjoying Arugam Bay, and the rooms are spotless, very clean, and comfortable.
This is clearly the best hotel in Arugam Bay in every way: hospitality, service, location, comfort, and atmosphere.
A huge thank you to the whole team for such an amazing experience. See you again very soon!
