Wonderful place on the ocean

Been to this hotel three times - really like the location and attitude of the owners. If you take a bungalow, your vacation is perfect. The hotel is on the very shore of the ocean and you fall asleep to the thunder of the waves. There's a turtle beach nearby. There are shops and cafes close to Unawattuna and around the hotel. There's a cafe in the hotel itself. It's a beautiful place for a small price. You can get a car with a driver from the hotel owner and go wherever you want - I've taken a car twice and the drivers have been very helpful in the journeys.

Hotel for unpretentious tourists! And be careful!

The hotel is, of course, for unpretentious tourists. They chose it because of its fortunate location - near the beach with turtles, which from the sea waves is closed by a reef. The staff are friendly, they try, but sometimes at breakfast they mix up the dishes: you order an omelette and they bring eggs. Breakfasts are monotonous but hearty. I don't recommend coffee, none, but tea is always fresh, strong and delicious! It would have been fine, but our friend got into trouble! The world has been told so many times... don't leave your suitcases open and your money in your suitcases! $200 is missing, alas...
But, in order not to stay on a sad note, I would add: the turtles were talked to quite a bit! Drove tuk-tuk to Unawatuna to the city beach. They took sunbeds from beach restaurants, they're free if you order lunch or drinks from them. Pro tuk-tuks: asked for 1,000-1500 rupees when the real price is 300 rupees. Knock-knocks were not taken near the hotel, where the local knock-knock mafia, but ordered through an app on the Internet, only went 200-300 meters away from the hotel.

Small, cozy oceanfront hotel.

The hotel has a very good location by the ocean, on the left is a beautiful Shiprock cafe and Turtle Beach, on the right is a large beach with waves and cafes.
Central beach is 10 minutes by tuk-tuk, there are always several cars parked outside the hotel. That's a plus and minus, because PickMe drivers hardly get to the hotel, as "it's a local hotspot."
The hotel itself is very tired, in need of renovation. My room had very old furniture with makeshift “locks” and a nightstand that was locked to the key instead of a safe, but my room had fully functioning plumbing, constant hot water and Wi-Fi. A week after I checked in, the hotel moved me into a bungalow, which is a little better than a normal room. The bungalow had new furniture, a great big bed and access to the ocean, but there was no wi-fi at all, hot water was limited, and the plumbing was not very good.
Breakfasts at the hotel are hearty, delicious, though monotonous.
All in all, not bad. All the shortcomings of the hotel are compensated for by the wonderful sympathetic staff who are ready to help at any moment.

Consider another hotel

Hotel about nothing. If you choose by price then this one is the last one, I highly recommend against.
The only upside to this hotel is its location. And that's it!!!!!!!!
1. Breakfast is , eggs or omelet , once served rotten salad .
2. Prices are space, compared to the prices in a nearby cafe (many cafes) . They cook it like this,
Price for example . Ordered a dorad for 1.3 kg with a side dish, came 30 thousand rupees. We bought 4 kilograms of dorad at the market and we were cooked 10,000 rupees. At a nearby cafe ordered 1 fish with a side dish (rice) came out 1500 rupees (cafe nearby) ,
3. Furniture tired along with toilet (drain tank , broken )
4. Guards guard the corn (do not let meet the guests free )
5. Plaster from the load-bearing beams is pouring in.
Generally speaking, shri.... I don't want to come here anymore.

Beautiful place, right by the sea

Beautiful place, right by the sea, with good amenities and a fine restaurant. We stayed there for three nights and had a great time. The manager is very helpful and accessible.
The staff are skilled. From Shanthi Beach resort you can take a beautiful beach walk.
