Nice hotel in reasonable price class - location close to the center, the art museum and good shopping options.

A bit far to go with luggage from the ferry, so we took a taxi on the return trip.
Several fine restaurants near the hotel.
Really good service at the hotel - here we will come again.

The family room was clean and well-equipped. The hotel itself was undergoing some construction which didn't have any detrimental impact on our stay, though.
A breakfast slot needs to be booked via the hotel's website but they are quite lenient if you're showing up a bit later. The breakfast was really good and the staff was very quick at restocking.
The hotel itself is located within walking distance of the town centre and very close to the Ullevi.

BIG BIG MINUS

Booked for my mother, in my name. Scandic Opalen didn't inform me that I don't get points. I changed, so my mother could do check-in by herself, this I should not have done. I myself prepared for my daughter's wedding. Scandic Opalen did not understand that I who had 2 bookings can not stay in 2 rooms. Boring exit on otherwise nice weekend

Lack of room standard, multiple cleaning. Dirty pillows and diners

Dirty room.
Completely worn out bed and pillows.
Spots on pillows and dynes.
Child menu in the restaurant that is immersed in salt.
Reception never managed to fix this. Despite message 2 days in a row.
Employees show zero customer service.
Do not recommend using this hotel.

Utter chaos at the elevators. Incompetent and rude front desk personnel. Never coming back.
