We are glad to hear that we could helped you out with a room at the last minute. I will pass on the kind word about Dennis to him.
The sauna really is a great extra thing that we can offer for free during a few hours every day.
Towels you need to rent but umbrellas is free to borrow. There are umbrellas in every room and also at the main-entrence. If they are all out you can just ask in the reception and then you get one.
Kind Regards,
David, Slottsskogens Hostel

I strongly recommend to stay away for those who are looking for service, towel etc. I do not recommend it.

Super good location and great staff
Good location.
The only thing I might like is that in our toilet in our room there was an extremely small sink .
Will gladly return

great value for money for a hostel in a good location
Simply take the bus company Flygbussarna (tip: buy tickets online beforehand) and get off at the first stop ("Korsvägen"), then take line 6 from platform B1 to the stop ("Olivedalsgatan") (tip: download the local public transport app). From there, walk up the side street for 5 minutes straight to the hostel. The hostel is very quiet, with a beautiful, huge park right behind it. There are residential buildings all around, lots of restaurants, a supermarket, a kiosk, ... so the infrastructure is top-notch! You can also easily walk to Haga, and even to the city center. The many hip bars and restaurants around "Andra Langgatan" can be reached without detours in just over 10 minutes.
SERVICE/FACILITIES:
The communication beforehand was impeccable, the reception very friendly and uncomplicated. My single room with two single beds was in the building opposite. Access via classic plastic card (main entrance, room). The interior areas looked clean, there was nothing that really needed to be renovated. There was carpet on the floor, paint and applications on the walls. I didn't use the communal kitchen, but it seemed neat and well-equipped. There is even an ironing board and iron in the hallway. There is a games corner with board games. The shower and toilet each form a unit, so there are no communal showers in the annex. These were OK for a hostel; clean, very spacious. It was cleaned regularly, the toilets were clean, the shower water heated up quickly. Great! Amazingly, all the lights in communal areas are on 24/7 (they must really have a cheap electricity tariff). There is also an elevator in the annex for wheelchair users, for example. The WiFi is free, stable and fast.
ROOM:
My room without its own toilet was quite small for two people, but it was OK on its own. When I consider that two suitcases would potentially have to be stowed away. Everything you need is there: hooks, sockets, chair, table, hooks, hairdryer, shoehorn, flat-screen TV... and: a luggage rack. Hotels/hostels without a luggage rack get a point deduction from me. B-)
There were two large windows facing a quiet side street. Unfortunately, one of the windows was not easy to close. The caretaker would have to get to work on that. The only drawback: the beds. The mattresses are too soft and there is no slatted frame so that you can lie down stably. It was like sleeping on jelly. Without a slatted frame, a mattress does not sit firmly, it slides back and forth on the futon. Unlike towels, bed linen is provided. The quilt and inner pillow were in OK condition, but they could do with going in the washing machine. Overall, it was quiet, the crowd was mixed, no riots and no loud music. The walls are a tiny bit thin, but everything is still bearable. It is a little annoying when the heavy doors slam shut. But that is the case with many accommodations. But I'm happy to accept that with secure doors with a modern, convenient locking system. Personally, I make sure that I close them slowly and don't let them slam shut behind me, out of consideration. Oh well.
CONCLUSION: Sweden is not a cheap travel destination. This is also reflected in the prices for accommodation. If you can/want to make some sacrifices in terms of comfort, this hostel is the right place for you. The price-performance ratio is very good. Clean, tidy, not shabby. The location is very good for a short city trip. You can get everywhere on foot. Very good service. The train station is just a few minutes away, and there are bus stops everywhere. I can only recommend this hostel, and would stay there again anytime.
