Great place

Second time I stayed here. This time on a bike trip with friends. Such a beautiful location. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Stayed in the annexe but it was good solid toilet and shower in the corridor

Fantastically good

We were four middle-aged plus on an excursion in Småland. Needed an affordable and pleasant overnight stay. And we got it! Such a nice place. Beautiful house with ancestry. We stayed in the annex with a bathroom in the corridor. No problem. Small rooms with separate comfortable beds. A wonderful breakfast where most things were. We didn't have dinner at the place so I don't know how it was.

A pleasant base for exploring the glass kingdom

I spent 3 nights at the Solvikens while exploring the Glass Kingdom. The pictures of rooms were accurate and the single room I chose was small but functional, as I expected. There was good WiFi, adequate outlets, and plenty of hot water. The house has a sitting room and an enclosed porch which are good for reading or relaxing outside of your room. The grounds are quite large and open onto a lake. It’s a relaxing place to start or end a day. The town has a walking trail that will take you further along the lake. There is a small supermarket nearby, as well as a couple pizza places (which I didn’t try). Dinner is not served on Monday or Tuesday and I had other plans on the Wednesday I was there. The breakfast buffet had a good selection and the owner is willing to accommodate dietary preferences/needs. The owner was not able to be there when I checked-in but called me and provided the means to check-in myself. The location is a convenient base for the Glass Kingdom, although Vaxjo and Nybro provide more direct routes. Iwas concerned with parking in Vaxjo and the main hotel in Nybro was fully booked.
If you have an electric car, there is a charger about 500m away, but the app did not work with a non-EU cell number. Vaxjo has numerous chargers and the shopping mall on the edge of town has high speed chargers. The larger glass studios all have chargers. Kosta has the widest range of chargers and several use the MER app which seemed to be easiest to use for a non-local and it also has chargers in Vaxjo.
