Expensive
A great hotel with nice staff and several cozy restaurants / bars right in central Karlstad. We had booked a larger room with balcony and one night cost 3000kr....then you have with all right high expectations.
The room was nicely decorated, the balcony was large with nice views of the pedestrian street. The bed was lovely but...for the price we lacked a little...would be nice with two armchairs so that one does not have to "hang in bed" if you want to chat. Toilet / shower was in the least and the toiletries were refillable and not exclusive. We tested the bars and the one on floor 1 was super cozy and really good drinks. On the ground floor it was full sizzle and a little livelier if you wish. We also tried the spa which was super nice BUT the bigger pool was full of dirt (old paper?), we pointed it out immediately but nothing was done about it...felt very unfresh to bathe in it.
Breakfast was super tasty and the staff in the breakfast room were nice, discreet and quick.

I booked this hotel last-minute, and from the moment I arrived until I checked out, everything just felt right. The staff were warm and professional throughout my stay.
The room was lovely, with a window that actually opened and efficient air conditioning (when the window was closed). The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern, and the entire hotel was impeccably clean. The hotel feels brand new, even though it has already been open for a few years. The breakfast deserves a special mention: the variety was fantastic, the quality was excellent, and everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and meticulously tidy - even towards the end of breakfast! The hotel is located in the city center, very close to both train and bus station. If you come by car, there's a secure parking garage about a five-minute walk away (inside a shopping center), which cost around €20 for overnight parking. I would absolutely stay here again without hesitation. A special thank you to the front desk team for making me feel so welcome, the housekeeping staff for keeping everything immaculate, and the breakfast team for their wonderful service and smiles every morning. You truly created a beautiful place!

Thought the spa was included, but not so. Also had to book a time to use it and we couldn't get a convenient slot during our stay so didn't get to use it. Consequently it was an expensive stay for what we had - a lovely room.

Central in Karlstad
In the middle of the pedestrian street in Karlstad is Fratelli, a great and good hotel. Dei serves good breakfast, has excellent restaurants for dinner and a relaxing bar area. Reinhaldet is good and room ok.
