The room was too warm and the window blinds did not work well, allowing a lot of light to enter the room. This means that the room was not dark at 5:00am, due to summer time, being hard to sleep.

Worst Scandic room I stayed in
The room experience was totally unacceptable and basically ruined the entire stay. It was extremely hot in the room, even though it was not even very hot outside. I actually expect a hotel room to maintain a normal and tolerable temperature, it does not feel like an unreasonable requirement.
Although there was a table fan in the room, it hardly solved the problem. It was not possible to place it at the only opening window because there were so few electrical outlets, and also the fan sounded so much that it was hardly a reasonable option for sleeping with.
The only opening window was located right by the bed. Opposite there were homes with full transparency into the room if the curtain was not drawn (which of course we did not want, but at the same time it was barely possible to have the curtain drawn because of the heat). Below was also a very busy street with buses, motorcycles and people shouting. With the window open, the noise level was unbearable.
We tried to air out the room as soon as we checked in and then went off on other activities. When we came back several hours later it was just as hot.
As parents of young children, we had really looked forward to a good night's undisturbed sleep. Instead, the night was worse than many of the nights we have at home with our child. It is quite remarkable that a hotel room can be so uncomfortable to stay and sleep in.
In addition to this, there were no electrical outlets at the beds, which feels very outdated, but which is largely a minor problem.

From elegant classic to chipped old man
Been here many times over the years, used to feel a bit old and cozy but now it feels more worn and depressed - which I guess is environmental thinking. I used to love staying at the Masonic Hotel, but it doesn't feel completely worth the price anymore.
I understand how they live up to environmental standards but it makes it feel a bit lousy nowadays. The lights are dimmed throughout the hotel and the toilets on the ground floor have a dim lighting taken from a horror movie. I can imagine that it is cozy in the fall.
Room:
A lamp and one of 5 small spotlights worked on the toilet. They said “the lights outside are shining right”? If you wanted to wear makeup to be outdoors during the day, you were therefore pretty *****. The maximum level of light you could get in the rest of the room was cozy lighting with everything on. The sink was dirty.
Depending on the room there is AC or not so the rooms can get very hot in the summer, and one winter we had to go and buy a fan at Biltema and ask for extra duvets because it got so cold. This year it was quite cool when we were there and it was just a bit hot which the fan in the room solved.
The water in the tap does not taste good anymore, which feels a bit funny when there is a big poster next to it that they purify their own tap water and serve in a bottle at breakfast. There was a slight smell of mold in the shower from the drain, but I have never had a problem with it during any other visit.

There are two rooms for breakfast, both are cozily decorated but the smaller one has chandeliers and classic vibes while the larger one has a little more modern feel.
It says nothing on the smaller one that it opens and closes at arbitrary times. They said one day 1½ hours before breakfast closes that they would stop refilling but that we could take off what was out there and eat in peace. Yeah. It's okay. 5 minutes later, people come out and start picking everything away. We ate in the larger hall, where there will be noise level like a school canteen, the rest of the days because who can change in the middle of breakfast?
There is no lunch service in the summer but the last hour of breakfast they are stressed with trolleys and pick off so it rings throughout the dining room and everyone starts talking louder to drown it out.
It doesn’t feel like they should have to be so stressed when it’s not lunch afterwards – the owners will have saved on having fewer cleaners now when you ask for cleaning when it’s needed and therefore it shouldn’t be cleaned every day in every room. Then they should be able to hire more staff so they don't get overloaded, if that's the problem.
Food:
Worse this time than normal. You couldn't drink the coffee one morning because it was so bitter. The porridge was on a scale between thick soup with dumplings (that day was horrible) and ”okay” different days. A lasting problem is that the bread there are only 2 varieties left of if you eat after 8.30, one light and one dark and they are chewy so it is sad for us with jaw problems or other chewing problems.
As a vegetarian, I definitely skip paying for breakfast in the future. The vegan supply is okay, but not enough for me when the environment is tough. I think it would be outweighed by the food if I also ate bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs etc. hot dishes but when I just take porridge and sandwiches, it is not worth it.
The selection is great for omnivores, different types of cheese and charcuterie in addition to the hot selection. But the vegetable selection is nothing to snort at. If you are not disturbed by noise or eat early breakfast, the buffet is also good for vegans and vegetarians of different kinds with toppings (two jams, veg pate, vegetable hard cheese, veg caviar and hummus) and various plant milk and cucumbers. Primary oat gurt nowadays which is good for soy allergy sufferers. Coffee with the coffee. Then there's some fresh fruit, a frozen berry mix at muesli and cornflakes (which is very sour but surely fresh with a sweet -gurt).
Service:
The staff is generally always very nice, with the normal amount of exceptions because everyone has bad days. The "worst thing" that happened to me more than once is that someone was unsure of something and did not know, but then they find someone who does. They don't just leave you with a shrug and they don't pretend to know so it won't be embarrassing - personally, they prefer to wait a little while to know for sure. (The only exception is well then regarding the small breakfast room, which confused me for many years so I completely avoided it until now, when it was so difficult noise level that I took a chance)
