Conveniently located in the Gamla stan district of Stockholm, At Old Town Aparthotel is set 700 metres from Royal Swedish Opera, 300 metres from The Royal Palace and 70 metres from Stockholm Cathedral.

We used this facility with other family members but we both booked separately. Whilst I received a mail detailing how to check in on line, my other family member did not and if I had not managed to attach the electronic room key to my wallet, we would not have been able to get into the building to then sort out room keys/book in properly.
There was a phone number to ring but checking in could be much better.
There are a lot of stairs - we were positioned in a different building and there were stone spiral stairs - we were on the 4th floor! Please also not there is not much room in the bedroom. However the beds are comfy.
We did think we were going to run out of toilet paper (only 1 roll was in the room on arrival) however as we were staying 2 nights, on the 2nd day, a plastic bag appeared by the door of the room with some fresh towels and another roll of toilet paper. Would have been better if 2 rolls were in there in the first instance.
This place is in an excellent location in Gamla Stan close to restaurants, bars, places of historical interest. Please note if you need a laundrette, the nearest one is 27 mins walk away in Stockholm. Easy to find but it’s a shame one of the rooms in this apartment complex is not a laundry room for guests to arrive.
Overall, very pleased with this accommodation!

As an Expedia VIP member who has stayed in accommodations across more than 30 countries, I can confidently say that this is by far the worst property I have ever encountered.
Calling this an aparthotel is, in my opinion, extremely misleading. What I found upon arrival bore virtually no resemblance to the description or expectations created by the listing. The difference between what was advertised and what I actually encountered was so significant that I immediately decided to book another accommodation and did not even stay at the property.
I have experienced all kinds of hotels and accommodations around the world, across different price ranges and standards, but I have never encountered such a drastic discrepancy between a listing and reality.
It is genuinely concerning that a property can be presented one way online while the actual experience is so completely different. I strongly recommend that potential guests carefully reconsider before booking.

• Great location, unreachable host, impossibly tiny room
The location was good, but getting there was needlessly difficult — the address provided in the booking confirmation didn’t match the actual entrance, and we had no way to resolve it. We rang the doorbell repeatedly trying to get help, and messages sent through the Vrbo app went unanswered for the entire stay. A host who can’t be reached when something goes wrong is a real problem, regardless of what’s in the listing.
The room itself was, without exaggeration, the smallest I’ve ever stayed in. I understand the square footage may have been listed, but no measurement conveyed just how unworkable the layout was — there was no floor space left to move around with luggage once inside. Combined with no elevator, hauling heavy bags up several flights of stairs made an already frustrating check-in even harder.
On the positive side, the space was clean and stocked with soap and shampoo.
Overall: the listing details don’t excuse being unreachable when we needed help, or a layout that made basic movement with luggage nearly impossible. Not a stay I’d repeat.

Some towels and bedsheets/duvets were missing, and it was problematic getting new ones as we were checking in quite late. Your «reception» told us to enter a room with a code, but there was only one duvet, and no sheets. The bedroom in 102 had no ventilation of any kind, no window, no ceiling fan, floor fan, ac, or anything. When the temperature is 28C outside, and you have warm nighttemperatures, that is quite unbearable. Would suggest installing some kind of ventilation in the bedroom, or else you cannot close the door.

Our experience here was an absolute nightmare. The check-in process was chaotic and completely disorganized. Nothing in the booking confirmation indicated that check-in took place in an entirely different building. We were left stranded on the sidewalk with our luggage, calling and ringing the intercom repeatedly, waiting for someone to answer or for a random resident to let us in.
Only after finally getting inside did we discover the actual room was in a separate building, crucial information they completely failed to communicate beforehand.
To make matters worse, the room was a top-floor attic accessible only by four flights of incredibly steep, difficult stairs. I booked this stay for my elderly parents, aged 75 and 80, and my father has two leg prostheses. It was physically impossible for them to haul their luggage up. They literally had to unpack their pyjamas on the spot and leave their suitcases in a locker in the other building because their own building had no storage space.
A great location means absolutely nothing when management's communication and logistics are this abysmal. I do not recommend this place under any circumstances!
