Top location - good experience

Simple, uncomplicated, and clean hotel right in the best location in the old town. Super team, good breakfast, tolerant even past 10:00 (breakfast time). Also look for personal contact sometimes.

Disappointing for a city hotel in a prime location

Unfortunately disappointing for a city hotel in the best location in Bern. Staff not very motivated. One service staff member at breakfast - overwhelmed and cannot keep up with refilling and serving guests, accordingly (understandably) quite unfriendly. Breakfast overall average. General cleanliness in the hotel (windows in the hallway, toilet) in need of improvement. Temperatures in the room on the 4th floor without air conditioning or a fan are hard to bear in the summer.
After checking out, I wasn't even allowed to store my small piece of carry-on luggage for a short time; I have truly never experienced that in a hotel before! Surprisingly, that is possible at check-in, however. Overall, not good service. Disappointing.

Nice hotel for a short stay in the city center

The hotel is conveniently located in the old city with loads of shops, cafés, restaurants and landmarks around. The room was overlooking the street so it was quite noisy and because there is no airco it's quite difficult to sleep if you want to have the window open. The bed was large and confortable, the room itself of a decent size, the bathroom is small but well equipped and water is really hot (be careful!). There is a safe in the cuppboars, as well as a hairdryer and a fan. Small TV on the wall facing the bed with loads of channels. Free tea and coffee with a kettle. No fridge to store your water and an amazing pillow menu. The breakfast was included and there is enough choice - it's not a huge buffet but nothing to complain about. The breakfast room is big enough to welcome all guests. The staff is very nice, it's quiet in the hotel itself. If you come back after 22H, the door is locked so make sure you have your room card with you to get back inside. We walked from the station, it's more or less 10 to 15 minutes depending on how fast you walk. Bern is well connected to the airport of Zürich by train.

Tiptop for one night

Very nice welcome. Room clean. Unfortunately at night bright through the gap under the door.
Shower curtain too narrow, on one side it splashes out. Shower shower bracket defective.
Breakfast generous, unfortunately the service very sluggish. All tables full of dirty dishes. Good location.
