A perfect stay in conveniently located Bettmeralp

The high meadow town of Bettmeralp is a medium sized town with many conveniences appreciated by those who live and visit here.
I recently stayed at the Hotel Waldhaus while using Bettmeralp as a convenient landing spot, as a group of us hiked and explored different locations each day.
This hotel is a family owned historic hotel with clean, updated, unique, and comfortable rooms.
Very conveniently located next to the gondola station, so it was perfect for our daily expeditions.
Because it is so convenient to the in-town transport, it also has easy access to the train station at the bottom of the mountain. Therefore one can conveniently access ALL of Switzerland and Europe from this locale.
The hotel employees were so quick to make sure our stay was exactly what we needed, and they seemed to recognize each one of us both in and outside the hotel.
The traditional in-house restaurant and the talented local chef was a complete surprise. The food was amazing!
I should also mention the outstanding mountain and village views from many of the rooms. And beautiful balconies that allowed us to sit back and soak in the mountain air while listening to the gentle sounds of the distant cow bells.

Ok place if you don’t mind hard bed

Nice hotel, good location but bathroom is really outdated and the beds are so very hard that I had pain in my shoulder for months after sleeping here for a week because the bed was so hard

Charming chalet style hotel in one of the most beautiful resorts in the Alps!

Having stayed in a lot of hotels in the Alps this is one of my very favourites. If you are looking for a cozy "away from it all" mid-range hotel in a stunning Alpine location the Waldhaus is hard to beat. It sits in splendid isolation on the edge of the traffic free village with stunning views (including the Matterhorn) across the valley. You can ski in/out and walk into most parts of the resort within 5-10 minutes. The food is also great, with excellent provision for vegetarians/vegans, and the owners are really relaxed and welcoming.

Beautiful lodging; exquisite food

Hotel Waldhaus is the absolute best, from the lovely room with a view to the exquisite food. The owners and staff got to know us immediately and catered to our food preferences and dietary restrictions without hampering quality. I would go back to Bettmeralp just to stay at Hotel Waldhaus!
