Excellent choice

I was in Biel for a business trip and booked Hotel Mercure for my stay. It was a great choice. The room was so spacious and clean, featuring a big bathroom and a very cozy bed. The breakfast is a good choice, especially when in a hurry.

Big thumbs down ; especially for international guests!

Room was too hot and there was no AC! Manager's response: "Adapt to Swiss conditions!" A blunt and impolite thumbs-down to all international guests.
And parking is abysmally bad! No automation; no key-card entry. Entrance to underground parking and parking spaces are ridiculously tight, and the entire area is a dungeon out of a horror movie! I spent half an hour trying to get my car into the garage and was very lucky not to damage my car.

Next time I’ll go somewhere other than Mercure Plaza Biel!

Old hotel with faded paints with in the rooms the minimum of towel products etc ...
In any case only the rates are 4 stars for the rest it is really minimalist....
Very disappointing and in fact I do not recommend this hotel.
As for the restaurant La Barique the dishes served and proposed are really tasteless and the service is too long while the restaurant was almost empty
Breakfast is fine unlike all the rest
The staff of the whole establishment is very correct and helpful...
Too bad the rest is not great and that’s the main thing: the general state of the establishment the rooms and the catering!
Better go somewhere else.

Noisy (but perfect if you are nosey)

The dividing door between this room and the room next door is not sound isolated.. It sounds like the two women next door are inside my room.

Great location and wonderful service

This Mercure was well located for being in the core of town, close to walk to all locations. The service was lovely, the room relatively large, very clean and well appointed. Delightful breakfast with hot and cold selection. Good location for being in town, exploring the area, and access to public transit, train station and shopping.
