Sleeping in cream and waking up looking at the lake and its mountains

I absolutely want to leave a review for this hotel because I had a wonderfully good time. The room had a full 3 windows overlooking the lake with a breathtaking view. The bed was like sleeping inside cream and my husband didn't snore! All the staff were smiling and a breakfast I will remember: everything very delicious and with great care.

Lakeside Location at a Fair Price

The Schmid and Alfa hotel is located on the quayside at Brunnen and is about an eight minute level walk from Brunnen railway station.
I had booked an economy room at the Alfa block and this was clean, quite compact with a comfortable bed, tV, fridge, en suite shower, writing desk and a welcome fan as the temperatures were uncharacteristically high during my stay.
The continental style buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied and they had a self service coffee/tea machine which I managed to operate without difficulty. Their very friendly and helpful staff, especially Mira, were on hand to ensure everything went smoothly.
Brunnen is a beautiful location and there are many walks including the Swiss Path that visitors can enjoy. As Brunnen is also on the main Gotthard rail line you can easily travel south to the Ticino resorts of Lugano and Locarno. Zurich is about an hour away, whilst Luzern is about fifty minutes. However, on hot days I would recommend the more leisurely boat trip from Brunnen to Luzern which takes about two hours.
I would highly recommend the Schmid and Alfa hotel for its friendly helpful staff, clean rooms, excellent location and reasonable pricing.

Another great stay

We have stayed here twice in the past year including a week last month. Great hotel. Functional not fancy. Affordable. Get a room with a lake view and private terrace. Rooms are good size and the bathroom and shower are also good size. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast is great. Views of the lake and passenger ferries and fancy autos are great. get a bottle of win, sit on your terrace and watch the action below. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Great location with shops and restaurants and the lake all within a three minute walk. Cannot go wrong here.

Highly recommended.

We (five adults) have rented an apartment. Very nice location with balcony and direct view of Lake Lucerne. Nice and relatively modern furnishings. Very clean. Very friendly staff.
Beach promenade and restaurants within walking distance. Boat landing and ticket office in front of the hotel with regular trips to Lucerne.

Breathtaking view

(+) Very nice hotel, very close to the lake. We requested a quiet room and got one on the 4th floor with a stunning view. It was end of April and the mountains were still covered by snow. We have got a parking place for 10CHF. Breakfast was very good (Prosecco, 2 types of non-dairy milks, very good coffee, a few types of bread, ham and cheese, fresh croissants). Brunnen is a small cozy city with many nice restaurants around the hotel. A couple of tips: boat trip on Luzern lake or hike in the mountains. Very famous mountain resort Stoos and Mythen region are very close by.
(-) It would be nice to clean the sink in the room 403.
