Position vs High Tech. Which wins?

My opinion changed during my stay at this hotel. On arrival, I found the digital registration system confusing and mildly irritating. The system wouldn’t let us check in and we had to ask the receptionist to assist us. Having just one receptionist was a problem as they were flitting between customers as others struggled to check in. Eventually, we went to our room, again irritated by the fact that there are only two lifts which serve all 6 floors, and they are extremely slow. You also need your room key to access the bedroom floors. The bedroom was a fine example of space management. The large, very comfortable bed filled the width of the room, which must have been 2 metres wide. The problem here was that if the person sleeping on the far side of the bed needed to get up during the night they would have to climb over their partner. We then moved our positions so that we were facing the bedroom, not across from it and this worked better. The shower, both overhead and hand held, were excellent, though I prefer it to be boiling hot which it wasn’t. Just a little concerning as the lack of privacy when using the toilet in the bathroom as the wall is glass. In the room is a minimalistic sink unit has a fridge underneath. There’s a safe in a drawer under the bed.
As for technology in the room. There’s a iPad which operates everything. It works the air conditioning. Turn the lights brighter or dimmer, on or off. A mood colour which can be changed to suit. The television operated from the iPad. Then there’s the blinds both day and night which are closed digitally. So too is the maid service which you have to order the day before or they won’t clean the room. All in all, though incredibly small the room has everything. Perfect fro someone on their own, but the two of us kept bumping into each other. There’s no bottled water in the room and you have to go to the ground floor to get a carafe of water if required. Quite annoying.
We didn’t have breakfast here. Far too expensive at 29 Swiss francs per person. So many cafes nearby, much cheaper. In fact, everything you may want is an extra at the hotel and super expensive. There’s a comfy lounge area downstairs which makes up for the lack of room. No toilets on the ground floor, you have to go to minus third floor for that.
So overall, you won’t get a better position for a hotel anywhere in Geneva. The tech stuff is just irritating and over the top. Sleep quality excellent, but the rooms just too small. Staff are OK but if you want something changed the computer says no.

Great location and really helpful staff! The downside is the quite a small room where you need to climb over your partner to get to your side of the bed and where the toilet is behind plastic walls in the middle of the room but for a short stay worth the money.

This was the ideal hotel for our short stop in Geneva before heading to Chamonix. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The bed was long enough for my feet and we had a corner room. Nice location and very efficient use of space. The breakfast was great! The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Number 1 Hotel Brand in the World!

We are long time customers of CitizenM, having stayed here across the world. After being bought out by Marriott we were worried standards would fall. I'm glad to say it certainly hasn't! CitizenM is the absolute best in affordable luxury, not to mention the number 1 hotel brand right now. It is perfectly designed and priced for tourists like ourselves who spend most of their day exploring, and comes back for a hot shower, sleep and maybe dinner/breakfast. Not to mention the fantastically friendly staff, convenient location and perfectly sized and equipped rooms. It’s all round superb! We strongly, strongly recommend CitizenM Geneva.
Also, we want to give a special shout out to the cleaners - who do a tremendous job, and to Nicole, Adrian and Lorenzo. They are top class examples of excellent customer service, and deserve a special recognition. Thank you very, very much all 3! You folks are legends!
One small feedback is having a retrospective way to leave tips for the cleaners - by the time we return they are already gone for the day and we can’t say thank you.

Modernistic accomodation

Probably best way to describe this hotel is "functional". Self service checkin, with a member of staff to help. Rooms clean, comfortable & in my case quiet. Room space is totally utilised, with bed fitted from wall to wall under the window. Most aspects of room are controlled by an ipad on bedside table, which was annoying when the aircon started making a noise in middle of the night requiring going on to the ipad to switch it off. Breakfast & bar drinks are high Geneva prices, but room rates reasonable. Well located for visiting, although probably better suited to business or solo travellers.
