A Lovely Stay

My husband and I had a fantastic stay in the Double Room Enzian, which offered a beautiful Eiger view and direct garden access. We truly enjoyed stepping out onto our balcony each morning to take in the fresh air and stunning scenery.
However, we were a bit disappointed with the breakfast, as the only hot item available was hard-boiled eggs. Also, checking in on my actual birthday felt rather ordinary—there was nothing particularly special or memorable to mark the occasion.
On a positive note, the entire staff was very friendly and welcoming—even the laundry gentleman we happened to meet outside the breakfast area on our last day.

Nice chalet, great staff, mesmerizing views

The Hotel Cabana is a small family-run business with something like twelve private suites. The location is several blocks (walkable for most people) from the Grindelwald train station, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. There is also a city bus line that you can jump on nearby.
We stayed for six days and found something great to do every day. For just one example, Grindelwald First mountain top area (accessible from the cable car station in town) has some of the greatest Alpine views you will ever see.
All staff members that we encountered were friendly and helpful, and communicated well in English. The continental-type breakfast (included) was of the highest quality. There was a self-serve honor-system fridge with beer, wine, and ice. And behind the hotel, the views of the valley, its traditional chalets, and The Eiger (!) were incomparable. Our suite was on the street side of the hotel, so we were not facing the Eiger, but we were able to sit on the lawn for that; and the mountain and sunset views on our connected deck would get five stars in most hotels!
In early September, we experienced high temps of roughly 80 degrees Farenheit in the area. There was no air conditioning in our room...but there was a good fan, and the evenings were cool. We were quite comfortable.
My wife and I were thoroughly satisfied with our stay at the Cabana, and highly recommend it.

superb stay

Beautiful! The room view is to die for. A perfect, dreamy getaway. Amazing view of the Eiger. Only disappointment was breakfast: repetitive, few options and no cooked or fried items. Shall definitely visit again.

A wonderful place to stay

Wow!
That really sums up our experience of staying at Hotel Cabana in one word. A lovely family-run hotel that is small enough to be super-friendly, without compromising on standards.
We had a spacious room with a balcony providing stunning views of the valley, and the Eiger. Chairs with warm rugs, and a table meant this was a comfortable place to sit and simply absorb those views which changed as the light shifted during the day.
Inside the spacious room, a small table and chairs made a thoughtful addition for those wishing to eat there. A fridge, a kettle, cups, glasses, bottle of water and complimentary bottle of red wine from the hosts on arrival all helped to make this feel like home for the two weeks we were there.
There was always ample hot water and as well as replenishing the tea/coffee when the room was cleaned daily, there was an additional selection box of teas at reception from which guests could select at any time.
The breakfast buffet was delicious, and although there are no evening meals served here, the hosts were more than happy to book restaurant tables or taxis on our behalf. They also helped to identify useful contacts for activities in the valley.
A ski room with heaters, meant our wet gear was dry and warm for the next day. And, although we didnt use them, we noted that a small lounge area (with drinks and snacks to purchase), a sauna and a fitness area were also available.
We had the most wonderful stay and would highly recommend Hotel Cabana
