Offering panoramic mountain views, the traditional and historic Hotel Du Nord, dating from 1847, is located in the centre of Interlaken, 400 metres from the Interlaken Ost Train Station and the pier, and 200 metres from the Harderbahn Cable Car.

Great choice for us. Perfect location at main street with restaurants and stores and only 10 min by foot to Interlaken Ost train station. Welcoming and friendly staff at reception and at breakfast. Breakfast buffet was great with lots of choices. We had a room with air condition which was important for us. The room was clean with a spacious bathroom, had a mini fridge, coffee machine and safe. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family and would come back by ourselves.

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel du Nord Interlaken. I booked the Deluxe Corner Room West rather than the basic room, and I think that made a big difference. The room was spacious and very comfortable, with a lovely balcony and a modern, well-designed bathroom.
One nice touch was the complimentary minibar, which was included on arrival. However, it's worth noting that it is only stocked once and isn't refilled during your stay.
My main criticism is the price. While the room was very nice, I felt it was somewhat overpriced for what was offered. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but I'm not sure the value fully matched the cost.

Location was great. However, the staff was brutal except for the breakfast staff. We were sitting in front of the hotel waiting for the para jumpers to land. We were told we could not sit there. It happened the night before at 10 pm, when we were finishing ice cream. There was NO ONE trying to use these tables!!!!!!We should have been asked if we were guests first before RUDELY being asked to leave. Also, they charge for room keys, if you ask for any extra and do not return them. Do not stay here!!!!!!

Charming, well located hotel. Easy walk from Interlaken Ost. Staff were amazing. Ohly negative - we were there during a heatwave and no AC - only 6 rooms have AC. The rooms did have 2 fans so that helped a bit.

(Serious Warning) Extreme safety hazard: Employees are ignorant Please be disturbed Signs break into the room, management is arrogant and without apology
I stayed three nights at this hotel in exchange for the most fearful and angry experience of my entire trip to Europe. The management of this hotel is simply a disaster.
1. Ignore DND instructions and guest instructions, openly crack
The next morning when we checked in, we had a Do Not Disturb card on the door, and our staff were not allowed to enter the door. However, when we were at the girl's peak, we were notified by CCTV that someone broke in. I don't understand why employees can force entry by ignoring the DND card and the Keep Out instructions we wrote? This has seriously violated guest privacy.
2. maliciously shut down monitoring equipment, the preface is incorrect after
The most embarrassing thing is that our CCTV power was turned off manually after employees broke in. I called the complaint from the summit, the front desk responded absurdly and contradictory: at first told me to "see the CCTV if there was something stolen," when I pointed out that the surveillance has been shut down by the employees, it was cunning to "saving power" to cut off the power, and then changed the phrase the employees to go in "put a pot." This deliberate avoidance of surveillance is highly suspicious. Since the CCTV's power has been cut off, I can't tell if someone was stealing but I know it was discovered and then go into the room and put it back in place.
3. The management is arrogant and refuses to apologize
Two days after the incident, the hotel did not have any proactive apologies or explanations. The staff remained extremely impatient, not even an apology, until we reflected the safety issues again at our Check-out. This total disregard for guest safety and dignity is hairy. Our long-awaited dream trip was completely destroyed by the hotel's handling method.
4. Hardware security is fake
Elevator security vulnerability: Although there is a card-taking system, you can actually reach any floor without a card-taking.
Stairs to enter free of charge: The hotel stairs do not have any barriers, anyone can walk directly from the street to the room door.
Summary:
A hotel in the tourist district without a basic sense of safety and service. Employees noticed that the Do Not Disturb card was still hard-through and deliberately cut off the shutdown TV power, and the management was bad after the incident. If your privacy and property are important, don't stay at Hotel Du Nord.
