Superb stay at the Ermitage Hotel in Kandersteg!

The room with a balcony was perfect, with an absolutely incredible view of the mountains. The hotel was very clean, quiet, and ideally located right next to the cable car to Lake Oeschinen.
A big thank you to the staff, who were lovely and very welcoming throughout the stay. Special mention also for the lunch pack offered for the hike: an excellent idea before heading out to discover the lake!
We will keep an incredible memory of this weekend, especially of the magnificent view of Lake Oeschinen. Thank you again to the entire team!

I recommend

Impeccable hotel, both in terms of hygiene, people working there and its location. The rooms are beautiful and convenient, the restaurant and breakfast were top as well as the sauna, garden and fitness room. We enjoyed our weekend very much, thank you!

Excellent getaway

Hotel easy access to cable cards. Place very clean and cozy. Staff was friendly and great breakfast which was included. Also ask for Guest Discount which allows you to get a grewt discount in cable cards and more. We loved our stay!!!! They speak English !!! Great service and worth the price.

It was ok. Nice views.

Beautiful views, great location, friendly staff. But they seemed very understaffed and it was difficult to get service or to find someone for help with questions about the area.
Also, the rooms were not air conditioned, which would have been ok with the door and windows open, but the smoke from people smoking under the window was bad. We were right over the restaurant which was noisy and smoky.

Quite good for 3 stars, still some room for improvement

Simple hotel without any big frills. Perfect location if you want to go to Oeschinen Lake, as it is right next to the cable car. The hotel's furnishings are functional and warm thanks to plenty of wood, but not high-quality. The breakfast buffet was small, but sufficient for us. Dinner in the restaurant was average, but the terrace was cozy. The large balcony in the room was super nice, the television unusable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all, absolutely okay for a 3-star hotel, but too expensive. But to be expected in early August in such a touristy place. However, we left satisfied and had 2 great days in Kandersteg.
