Good part, nice stay
The check in was brisk and hassle-free. Another employee leads us to the room, convenient, the house is quite winding. The room itself is not huge but sufficient, with lake views, it is clean and nice and warm. This also applies to shared bathroom and toilet. The common room/bar is spacious and grand and lovingly designed, there are hot and cold drinks in self-service and encounters with nice people. The service staff is friendly and helpful.
West coast is in an excellent location: very close to the lake, the city center less than 10 minutes walk (unfortunately, there is no longer the footbridge to the train station), in between leisure facilities. By S-Bahn or riverside road (in summer also by ship) you can get to Bregenz and Dornbirn in a flash, for even more cultural and culinary delights offered.
Only in the transparency of parking and breakfast (low season regulation) concerning during/before booking, I would like to see an improvement.
Good part, we'll be back.

The overall impression met our expectations of a simple, clean and pleasant overnight stay on the way to Scandinavia. 10€ for P
Very simple standard but such a nice atmosphere. Clean bathroom/wc - clean room and nice area. Beautiful walk to the center with the dog in the evening and the morning walk along the water made this a place we would like to return to.
The best coffee ever in the morning didn't make anything worse It was a bit overwhelming that the parking cost €10 - but good enough. Thank you for having us!

Back to the "Youth Leisure Home"
Due to a concert I travelled to Lindau. I didn't want to go back in the evening, so I looked for a cheap (cheap?) Accommodation around. The "West Coast" promised an overnight stay for little money. I knew I got carried away with a six-person room (with five strangers), but no matter. One night must go. Arriving, the envelopes including the room keys of the newcomers hung on a wall for self-service. The house is old, the stairs steep but doable. The bed provided for me was already occupied and after telephone consultation I could choose the next available bed. Toilets and shower are available for all guests. For the purpose of staying cheaply it was enough. Would I recommend the hotel? No, at my age you don’t really sleep like that anymore; nevertheless I was surprised that more settled audiences stayed there. But it is not a hotel for a well-kept holiday. Yes, breakfast is a gift.

Poor experience
When we arrived to this hostel, the key waited us on the notice board, but when we got to our room, it was dirty and we didn't even have enough sheets for three people. I called to the number, that was given, but no answer. I also send an e-mail.
Then we went to explore the city, and I expected that someone would call me back or read my e-mail. Nothing. We went back and the room was in same condition as before. I called again multiple times and finally I sent an e-mail, that we are leaving. Then I happend to see someone, that I thought was a cleaner. She didn't speak english/german, but she got there someone, who did. He said he is not the owner, nor does he work there, but all the sudden things started to happen. We got our room cleaned, and because it was getting late, and we had a child with us, we decided to stay.
When we were leaving, there was a lady in reception, but she didn't ask, did we enjoy our staying... She must have known about our situation, but she didn't regret to that, either. Also we had to pay by cash and we had to ask for receipt, which she did give to us, but it was handwritten.
So overall, not a very pleasent experience and definitely not well organized place.
Obviously I don't recommend this place.

Although cheap and good location, but for us not a second time
It was the cheapest accommodation available.
It was close to the Lake Constance cycle path.
Two steep, narrow wooden stairs to a "wooden bridge" (outside area / 2nd floor) that led to the rooms.
Passage doors to this "wooden bridge" approx. 1.60 m high.
One toilet for all rooms.
Two sinks for all rooms.
Two showers for all rooms.
No TV.
Bikes could be parked in the shed, but the key was hanging on the side entrance door for everyone to access.
I wasn't sure whether the floor in front of the sinks was still stable.
It is right next to the train station, but the shortest way to get to them is over the Thiersch Bridge (600 m).
