Central located hotel - but, as everything in Switzerland - expensive (low value for money).It is more a central B&B than a hotel since there are no common areas and everything is self service. Forget street parking and plan to use the shopping center or city garage (cheaper + 100m) nearby.

I hate self check-in

This is a self-check in hotel with no staff and only one check in machine.
We unfortunately arrived just behind an extended US family of 8, who had five rooms between them and the machine didn't tell them which room was for singles, doubles or wheelchairs. So we had a long wait behind a single group.
Later we discover the hotel is linked (physically at second floor level) to the de la paix hotel (literally a few paces around the corner) and it has a receptionist who can surely make life easier, should you find yourselves here.
They do breakfast, but no bar, no food.
And the rooms are pleasant and clean.

The location was easy to access by transport and stop. They don't have reception (self-check in) so if you come earlier put the luggages in a coin's locker or if they are all full, you may try to ask the reception for help at the Hotel de la Paix (just next to the hotel). They have a pantry for opens which having microwaves, coffee/ hot water machine, plates, forks and tea-bags provided.

Lucerne center ideal

The hotel is in the center of Lucerne. Parking garage next door. Near shopping opportunities. Not far from the lake, Lion Monument. Public transport in front of the door. Well soundproofed large rooms well equipped, with air conditioning. Friendly welcome at the Hotel de la Paix.
Would stay again.
