Wonderful stay at Cascada!
Wonderful stay at Cascada. Very convenient to train station and all of downtown sights. All of the workers were very friendly helpful- special shoutout to Amelia and Elena! Breakfast buffet was filled with delicious items- especially ice to have made to order eggs! Nice touches like souvenir water bottles!

Great Experience
Great location. Staff at front desk were excellent, except for one in training. Found her condescending and unfriendly

Beware of hotel policies, empathy and greed.
Beware, this hotel is inflexible and seemingly missed out on customer service. We booked an "expensive" room which unfortunately we were not able to keep this reservation due to my wife having a debilitating accident. While there no change policy is clearly stated, you would think they would have some empathy. We didn't ask for our money back, only that we get a credit that we can use at a later date. The denied both via Hotels.com and my direct phone call and email. To top it off, it was one of the last reservations they had available, they no doubt will have someone else book the room. Very disappointing.

We were truly sorry to hear about your wife’s accident when you first contacted us, and we sincerely hope she is making a good recovery.
We also regret that our decision left you with the impression that empathy or customer care was lacking. Your reservation had been booked on a non-refundable and non-changeable rate.
Transferring the amount into a credit for a future stay would still mean changing the original booking conditions and travel dates, which this particular rate did not allow.
We fully understand that this is especially disappointing when plans change because of an accident. In situations like this, travel insurance is usually the appropriate avenue for recovering costs arising from an unforeseen medical event, and we are of course happy to provide the necessary booking documentation for such a claim.
We would also like to clarify that our decision was not based on the possibility of selling the room again.
Whether a room is rebooked after a cancellation is never guaranteed; we simply applied the conditions attached to the rate that had been selected.
We genuinely regret that we could not offer the solution you had hoped for and that this has left such a negative impression of the CASCADA.
Above all, we wish your wife a smooth recovery and hope that your travels may bring you to Lucerne under happier circumstances in the future.

It was hot in Lucerne. Wish they had air on lower for us. It took a very long time to cool down. Otherwise, nice hotel next to train station.
