Amasing stay excellent location

This hotel is located precisely in front of the lake and overlooking the bridge, Mt Pilatus and the lake we had a room overlooking the lake and it was just perfect is size. Super clean. The atmosphere was nice - staff was welcoming helpful and kind. The food was superior. The hotel is walking distance from train station; restaurants and the downtown!

Wouldn't stay anywhere else

Great location, great views, wonderful restaurant, relaxing stay sets the tone for this hotel, but the staff takes it over the top. While "European" sized, we found the room to be extremely comfortable with bedding that provided a great night rest. The balcony along the river was a wonderful amenity and a place to relax and have a pre-dinner cocktail from the mini-bar. The location was easily walkable to all local attractions, the pier and train station, yet away from the noisy areas of the city. Make sure to have at least one meal in restaurant, it was the best meal we had. We interacted often with front desk staff and found everyone with a strong desire to make sure we had a wonderful Lucerne trip, quick to offer dining, transportation and activity recommendations.

Happy Couple with Big Belly Mama

Hotel de Balances has a fantastic location, making it very convenient for exploring Lucerne.
The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. Although it’s a relatively small corner buffet, the variety and quality were impressive, especially the fresh breads and bakery items. The Bircher muesli was fantastic! We enjoyed breakfast there on all three mornings, especially sitting outside with the beautiful view — and, of course, plenty of bees joining us.
Our room was good overall, although the mattress was unfortunately not very comfortable. It felt quite worn and had a noticeable dip in the middle, which made sleeping less comfortable.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and really enjoyed the location, breakfast, and atmosphere of the hotel.

Improvements are needed regarding moving luggage

I stayed for three days with my young daughter, and carrying a heavy suitcase up and down the stairs during check-in and check-out was extremely difficult. But no one was able to receive any help. It seems like it needs improvement. The in-room minibar amenities were also insufficient, as they were provided only once during the three-day stay.

Wonderful hotel! Location, balcony room, staff, and services are all fantastic.

We would highly recommend this hotel. They made our long weekend truly memorable. We plan to return and recommend the hotel to friends and clients. Book a balcony if your budget allows! Definitely have drinks in the bar and dinner in the restaurant. Ask the staff for recommendations as every restaurant was fantastic.
