Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Gasthaus Rössli as a family of four, with our two children aged 4 and 7.
The rooms are simple but spotless. Since it’s an old house, the floors creak a little and the walls are not as soundproof as in newer buildings - but that’s part of the charm :)
The dinners were absolutely fantastic: fresh, healthy, and centered around local, seasonal, organic ingredients. The wine selection (organic wines) was excellent too, and the children’s menu suited our kids perfectly.
Breakfast was another highlight, with a beautiful buffet with cheeses from a local cheesemaker, breads from a local bakery, homemade jams, müesli, juices, fresh fruit, cold cuts. All organic.
We also loved all the fresh flowers throughout the house and the lavender hand soap!
Families clearly feel welcome here. There’s a children’s corner with books, dolls, and wooden toys, which our kids really enjoyed.
Throughout our stay, the staff were consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely kind.
What stood out most to us was the incredible attention to detail — in the décor, the service, the presentation of the food, and the overall atmosphere. Everything feels thoughtful and cared for, which makes the place truly special.
This is also the kind of place where you feel good staying at, because of its strong commitment to sustainability.
We’ll definitely be back!

highly recommended!

wonderful very old historic hotel with Hüslernestern, we traveled to 4 and had 4 single rooms and slept wonderfully despite being very close to the church tower even without earplugs. Absolutely recommended gastronomy! Also the simple Zmorge with fantastic bread and organic jam!! The history of the hotel is free, small fine garden restaurant, totally peaceful and friendly place.

Likeable and antic hotel

Very likable staff run for 35 years by the same lady who is responsible for the old charm and excellent restaurant and breakfast buffet where everything is pure organic. The rooms are fine - some with and some without WC bad shower. The only item worth criticizing is the very thin uncomfortable pillow..

Very good food

We took the zodiac sign menu. Every course was very nicely arranged and tasted excellent. The ingredients were fresh and seasonal. The composition of the food is special and not commonplace. The service was super nice. A real host, as you wish.

Recommended

Very good food, friendly staff, sustainable infrastructure and beautiful surroundings. Maybe a bit hard for sensitive people, but acceptable and understandable, as the building should not be modernized at will due to its listed status.
