Gourmet discovery

We only ate , but the setting is beautiful, super warm welcome and excellent food quality. An exceptional quality of meat.
It was a friend who made us discover this restaurant and was a beautiful discovery.

Single fondue charged for two. Thieves

We had lunch at this restaurant and got robbed! They are thieves and in bad faith. We only ordered one fondue and they charged us for two. Make sure you never eat here. I asked for an explanation because I paid twice and he spoke to me I am in French, knowing that we did not speak French. Shame on you!

Affordable little stay in La Douay

My son and I really enjoyed our stay in La Douay, Le Catogne was a very friendly and comfortable experience with amazing food. Le Catogne was exactly what I wanted in a traditional chalet style hotel.Accommodation is basic yet comfortable, bedding and towels smell laundry fresh. The shampoo toiletries even have a nice fragrance. There is a wood burner right by reception desk, just after ski storage and it’s always warm, welcoming and toasty, radiator in room is on. Food in restaurant is top notch usual Swiss prices (22fr for sauerkraut, steaks 29fr upwards, fondues etc…. I tried to ignore they had horse on the menu after being an owner). Staff were very accommodating when I asked if they had a kettle as none are supplied in rooms and they supplied one with cups and sugar as requested. La Douay train stop is through the underpass and up hill so easy to get any here by train if you’ve decided to not drive. There was a small wall mounted smart tv with Netflix and Prime etc to watch. Only slight thing I could think as a negative depends on who you’re sharing the room with, as I was with my teenage son, the shower cubicle was by main door and there was a full mirror diagonal to it, so from the beds, you could see into shower. Lack of privacy was only issue and we worked around it. Our room was number 10 and we had a lovely window out to river which I loved the relaxing sound. I would easily visit again.

A real nugget

Warm welcome as at home,
Lovely staff and absolutely excellent food
The rooms are simple but comfortable and very well equipped
Vintage chalet house mountains, great!
Long live Spain that won;-)

an obnoxious boss

A detestable welcome!!
Does not accept animals!, not even 1 future guide dog!!, it’s lamentable!!
Down jackets with holes!
The breakfast leaves something to be desired! , industrial croissants, a softened fruit salad!!!…
